Mark Zuckerberg on Drop in Threads Active Users: “Tens of Millions of People Return Every Day”

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg says that Threads continues to have a large number of active users. The tycoon published this statement on his personal account after it was reported that the social network had a drop in this regard, compared to his great start.

I’m very optimistic about how the Threads community is coming together. The initial growth was off the charts, but more importantly, tens of millions of people now return daily. That’s way ahead of what we expected.”Zuckerberg notes.

In addition, the tycoon revealed the plan they have to grow the app. “The focus for the rest of the year is to improve basic concepts and retention.. It will take time to stabilize, but once we do, we will focus on growing the community.”, he adds.

Zuckerberg is confident because it is not the first time they have been successful with a social network or some important function. “We have run this playbook many times (Facebook, Instagram, Stories, Reels, etc.) and I’m sure Threads is on a good track too”, he concludes.

LOOK: Threads is declining in number of active users after its successful launch

As you remember, Threads was released on July 5, a day earlier than planned. Although it is not available in some countries, especially in the European Union, the app has achieved more than 100 million users after five days since its launch.

However, recent reports have revealed that active users have dropped considerably. According to a Sensor Tower analysis, the number of active users decreased by 20% and the time spent by users in the app is currently 10 minutesunlike the 20 minutes of the first days.
