Elon Musk found another reason not to buy Twitter: what it’s all about

The CEO of Tesla and Space X Elon Musk would have found another pretext to cancel the deal to buy Twitter for $44,000 million and it precisely has nothing to do with the number of bots used by the digital platform.

In the third letter released by Musk’s lawyers in a filing with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission Twitter allegedly breached merger agreement when it agreed to pay $7 million to the company’s former head of securityidentified as Peiter “Mudge” Zatko, according to a citation TheVerge.

Last month, Zatko accused the social network of misleading investors about the number of bots on the platform, failing to remove user data, and having poor security practices. Musk backed up these claims in the second dismissal letter by taping Zatko to testify in the lawsuit.

In the first letter sent in July, Musk’s legal team said Twitter misled him about the number of bots on the platform and that the company would not give him access to the information needed to make his own decisions.despite being given permission to enter the “firehouse” API that displays each post.

The payment agreement between Twitter and Zatko, recently disclosed by The Wall Street Journal, was taken up by Musk’s team as a reason not to complete the purchase of the company. The letter says that Musk did not find out about the separation agreement until Twitter filed it in court.

Chancellor Kathaleen McCormick has ruled that Musck may use Zatko’s accusations to support his case and there will be “limited” discovery in documents related to the former head of security. The trial is scheduled for October 17.

The news comes amid legal wrangling that includes Twitter suing Musk for refusing to buy the company after the April deal and various reactions from Musk citing inconsistencies in reporting and challenging company CEO Paraj Agrawal to a public debate.
