For 12 years, every autumn in the northern hemisphere, the CEO of Amazon invites a select group of guests from the world of art, entertainment and science to participate in his campfire.
Is about an exclusive event, which for several editions has taken place in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Despite the strict privacy that is required of the guests – there are no social media posts or broadcasts of any kind – since 2010 several press releases have appeared alluding to the event.
The names of some great figures from the world of entertainment, science and culture have transcended, such as the astronaut Neil Armstrong; actress Reese Witherspoon; actor Billy Crystal; filmmaker Ron Howard; writers Margaret Atwood and Khaled Hosseini; and musicians like T Bone Burnett and Moby, among many others.
This year a Chilean scientist was among the 85 VIP guests from the creative world. the primatologist Isabel Behncke Left was one of the attendees at the meeting that took place last week at a resort located near Phoenix, Arizona.
On this occasion the theme of the four days and three nights was Happiness and Behncke was one of the 15 speakers. The doctorate from Oxford, an expert in behavior, spoke about the game based on her extensive research on the bonobos of the Congo, and during her presentation, she also showed some images of Chile and its landscapes.
The Chilean writer, resident in the United States, Isabel Allende, would also have been contemplated among this year’s guests, but she would not have been able to attend.
During the mornings, in a hotel auditorium, the different presentations took place. Like a premium version of TED Talks. In the afternoons, the group of guests went for walks and other outdoor activities where they had the opportunity to share in a more relaxed way and at night they gathered for dinner at tables of six people and there was also live music.
Bezos as host shared with all the guests, but did not give talks or presentationsHe just thanked those present for being there. For the businessman, the objective of these meetings is to share with top people from the cultural and intellectual world in order to listen and exchange ideas. US scientists and entrepreneurs familiar with the event affirm that “along with the Nobel Prizes, the Campfire is the best meeting in the world.”
We would like to say thanks to the writer of this write-up for this incredible web content
