HAS the occasion of the release of his new film, Rifkin’s FestivalWoody Allen was recently interviewed by the magazine The Parisian. The opportunity for the director to reveal how he experiences this boycott :

I think they are wrong. They make a mistake and one day, I hope, they will understand it. I wish they didn’t make that mistake, they don’t do a nice thing… But I still do my movies, I do my job.

Woody Allen also revealed his thoughts on the #MeToo movement. As a reminder, this movement was launched in 2017 on Twitter and was carried by several American actresses. Indeed, this hashtag followed the Weinstein affair which shook Hollywood.

Originally, it was a very good movement, which had wonderful consequences for women. But as in any movement, be it democracy, communism or another, there are always people who commit abuses. When people who are irresponsible or not intelligent enough to understand the complexity of these questions divert it, we end up with mistakes.
