I have never, Mindy Kaling’s popular Netflix coming-of-age series is back and full of new characters.

All 10 episodes of Season 3 were released on August 12, 2022, and as fans watch, they’ll meet a number of new crushes, new friends, and new friends of crushes. Among the new characters for the season is Parker, a friend of Devi’s friend, played by Deacon Phillippe. If the name sounds familiar, it’s because he’s the son of actors Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe. Yes really!

I have never follows Devi Vishwakumar (Maitreyi Ramakrishnan), a bright but uncool high school girl on a quest to catapult her social status alongside best friends Fabiola (Lee Rodriguez) and Eleanor (Ramona Young). When we first meet Devi, we learn that her father Mohan (Sendhil Ramamurthy) has died suddenly, leaving her and her family in mourning. The series, primarily narrated by professional tennis star John McEnroe, shows Devi navigating heartbreak, young adulthood and a crush on two very different boys: Ben (Lewison years) and Paxton (Darren Barnett). In a Season 3 twist, a new crush Nirdesh, aka Des (Anirudh Pisharody), enters Devi’s life. Things get so serious that he ends up introducing her to his friends, and that’s how Parker comes into the picture.

Who is Parker in season 3 of I have never?

In season 3, Devi’s mother, Nalini (Poorna Jagannathan), makes a new friend named Rhyah (Sarayu Blue). While out for dinner one night, Devi unsuccessfully tries to sneak out to go to a house party. Although her attempts at rage are initially thwarted, Nalini agrees that she can go to the party as long as she takes Rhyah’s son Des with her. Devi assumes Des is going to be a total nerd, but for real I have never fashion, he turns out to be another stallion. Devi and Des get along and start dating, but their mothers are still around, which repeatedly kills their romantic vibes. Hoping to have some alone time with Des, Devi invites him and a few of his friends over for a game night in episode 8, “I’ve Never… Met My Boyfriend.”

We’ve seen Parker before, as he’s on the debate team with Des, but we really get to know him in Episode 8. When Des arrives with Parker and his friend Addison (Terry Hu), Devi asks if they’re ready to get their game. Parker is visibly annoyed to be at a real game night and says. “I thought that was exactly what you were telling your parents” before asking for alcohol, which Devi accidentally forgot to take. To save time, Devi tells him the booze is on the way, and Parker asks if his mom “at least has some pills.” CHILD! Please.

Fabiola tells everyone she has something funnier than booze: an extremely complex board game called Brain Cranker. Parker is not thrilled. “UGH! When you said you had something more fun than booze, I thought you meant Whip Its! he groaned before telling Des, “You know I can’t be sober with my feelings right now” and suggesting they leave Devi to go to a party. Des explains to Devi that Parker’s parents are going to divorce and that he is staying with him tonight, so he has to take care of him. Just as they are about to leave, Paxton and Trent show up with the booze. “YES! MALIBU!” said Parker. “That stuff always makes me vomit!”

After Parker takes the booze into him, he relaxes a bit and ends up liking Brain Cranker. He disappears just before the next game, and Des and Devi find him in the garage yelling at his mother on the phone. As he has his emotional conversation about the divorce, he also shakes a tennis racket, but not just any racket… It’s Devi’s dad’s most prized possession: John McEnroe’s wooden Wimbledon racket . After Parker accidentally hits Devi, she manages to pull the racket away from him, but he asks why she’s sitting in a junk pile if it’s so important, which upsets her.

Devi runs to her room crying and Paxton comes to comfort her. She tells him what happened and he says Parker “seems like a tool.” Before heading back down, Des and Parker introduce themselves, and Parker apologizes for his behavior. Des and his friends are leaving for the night, and here comes Parker.

Who is Deacon Phillippe, who plays Parker in I have never Season 3 on Netflix?

Deacon Reese Phillippe is an 18-year-old actor and singer from Los Angeles, California. Although he made his acting debut as Parker in I have never, we have a feeling this won’t be the last time we see Phillippe on screen, especially since the teenager’s parents (Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe) are such big stars.

Witherspoon, actor and producer, has a busy IMDb page. She is best known for her roles in Revenge of a Blonde, Savage, walk the line, Big little lies, little fires everywhereand The morning show. And his media company Hello Sunshine is home to the popular Reese’s Book Club and produces podcasts, TV series and movies. Ryan Phillippe also has the entire IMDb page with notable roles in cruel intentions (alongside Witherspoon), I know what you did last summer, MacGruber, lady of the mansionand I like it for you.

Although Deacon Phillippe doesn’t have much acting experience, he has a budding music career. In 2020, he released his first single, “Long Run”, featuring Scottish singer-songwriter Nina Nesbitt. Later that year, he released a corresponding music video for the track and released a second single, “Love For The Summer,” written by Kelsey Ballerini and featuring singer and TikTok star Loren Gray. He also recently released an EP on SoundCloud.

Before its appearance on I have neverDeacon Phillippe has an impressive 399,000 Instagram followers, but he doesn’t seem to use Twitter. An unverified account in his name has just six tweets and just over 1,000 followers.

In a recent interview with entertainment tonight, Ryan Phillippe said his son is mostly focused on his music career right now and will be going to college to study music in the fall. Still, we hope we haven’t seen the last of Deacon Phillippe on screen.
