Who is David Corenswet, the new DC Superman who will replace Henry Cavill?

Born in 1993, he grew up in Philadelphia and was destined for a future in the legal world in order to follow in his parents’ footsteps. In Superman: Legacywhich is scheduled for release in July 2025, David Corenswet will share the bill with his Lois Lane, played by Rachel Brosnahan (The Fabulous Mrs. Maisel). While James Gunn has repeatedly proven his ability to create endearing families and couples at Marvel, some fans are already questioning this casting choice. They criticize in particular the disturbing resemblances between David Corenswet and Henry Cavill, a certain proof of bad faith when we know that the second had been chosen for his physical features close to those of Clark Kent.
