Netflix and HBO Max have a great selection of Henry Cavill movies that show more facets of Iron Man
You know you’ve hit it big when you have your own famous meme: If I had a penny for every time I’ve seen the Henry Cavill meme, in which Jason Momoa sneaks up on him, I’d have enough money to include Cavill in my own movies. films. But until that happens, Netflix and hbo max They are one of the best places to have a Henry Cavill crew. It could be said that the collection of Netflix about the actor is incredible.
Here are three movies starring Henry Cavill that I think are worth watching and all of them are available to stream.
1. ENOLA HOLMES
Cavill isn’t the main lead here; Enola Holmes’ hero is the incredible Millie Bobby Brown, who you may already know from her role in Stranger Things. But as Enola’s brother, Sherlock has plenty of fun in this superb reimagining of the Baker Street legend, a feminist piece that should delight moviegoers of all ages.
Based on the young adult novels by Nancy Springer, Enola Holmes is a story about an ordinary Victorian girl who loves mystery, martial arts, and blowing things up. Also, her continual attempts to trick her brothers Sherlock and Mycroft are hilarious. When you consider that Sherlock Holmes is the most-filmed literary character of all time (including series), the fact that this film focuses on Enola Holmes is refreshing and more commendable. The main mystery isn’t that great, but you’ll enjoy the ride.
2. IN THE KILLER GAME
Because it’s called Night Hunter, in English, it’s not to be confused with the 1996 vampire movie. A movie so bad that the best anyone can say about it is that it was “better than Bloodfist 8.” Night Hunter was originally called Nomis and has a shocking 14% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
According to Mark Kermode, it’s “Superman in a beanie in a remake of the last scene of The Silence of the Lambs, but not as good.” And, if this doesn’t prompt you to add her to your list right away, I really don’t think we can be friends. In the assassin’s game he has a very good cast: Ben Kingsley! Stanley Tucci! And it completely wastes his talent with a script that is “laugh-inducing” (The Times) and offers a lot of “nonsense” (The Guardian). This is my kind of movie, it’s unreal.
3. MAN OF STEEL
You knew I was going to include this one and obviously it had to be on this list because it’s great and I think it’s underrated: on Rotten Tomatoes it had a 56% acceptance rating; which for me is extremely unfair. Henry Cavill is the perfect actor to play the heroic and too lingo to be human: Superman. Plus, he does a near-perfect job, and while that clearly conflicts with Zack Snyder’s overly flashy direction, the film is far more ambitious and thoughtful than your typical superhero flick.
It’s closer to the dark, gritty tone of the latest Batman movies than Superman Returns. And while it’s not as well produced (the last half hour or so feels like it’s a different movie), it’s an interesting oddity thanks to the superhuman presence of Henry Cavill.
