He is systematically in first position in the polls dedicated to DC, and many are the actors known to have worn the mask and the cape. Christian Bale, Ben Affleck, Michael Keaton, Adam West, George Clooney or even Lewis Wilson were Bruce Wayne. But apart from The Flash, Shazam! : The Rage of the Gods or Aquaman and the Lost Kingdomwhat a place for The Batman ? As soon as Gunn and Safran took office, it was reported that The Batman, whose the sequel has already been announced and accompanied by two (or three) series including one on the Penguin, should continue to exist on their side. But this trend was not enough to reassure the fans, who can breathe a little better following new statements from Matt Reeves, the director of The Batman. At Collider, Matt Reeves declares that he will very soon participate in a meeting with James Gunn and Peter Safran to discuss how the Batverse and the DCU will coexist:

They (Gunn and Safran) were awesome. (…) We are supposed to meet in the next few weeks because they want to talk to me about the general plan, then they want to know what is planned for the BatVerse. We meet just to talk about all this. Look, I’m excited to hear what they’re going to do. The BatVerse thing, as James said, and as Peter said, kind of has (its own existence) that they let us do.

Still according to Reeves, the main purpose of the meeting will be to make sure the DCU and the BatVerse don’t step on each other. This suggests that the two universes may never intersect, to develop each on their own. It stays good news for Robert Pattinsonwho should find the costume.

They’re going to tell me about what they’re doing in their 10 year plan or at least what’s in the near future, so we can understand that we’re not – it’s kind of traffic control aerial – (in the process of) crashing into each other.

The shooting of the series on the Penguin, in which Colin Farrel will return to his role, set to debut in February. The other series will normally be devoted to arkham asylumwhile a third series, based on the font of Gotham, would have finally been validated independently after having served as a basis for Arkham. As for the next The Batman, we do not yet know in which direction it will go. Robert Pattinson would like explore the mythical Cour des Owls archwhile Matt Reeves would lean towards a plot including Mr. Freeze. In parallel, Matt Reeves would be in discussion to prepare other films, centered on Mouth of Clay, the Scarecrow or even Professor Pyg.
