The Serie breaking bad It definitely marked a before and after in the history of streaming services. When they were not yet booming, when the format was not yet popular, Netflix took over the rights to this series that was already all the rage in the US and Canada, definitively transforming it into the success that we all know.
Premiered on January 20, 2008, created by Vince Gilligan and produced by Sony Pictures Television, the series spanned 5 seasons, with a movie and a spin-off included (another hit, Better Call Saul). It tells the story of Walter White (Bryan Cranston), a financially strapped chemistry teacher who is diagnosed with inoperable lung cancer. To pay for his treatment and secure his family’s financial future, he decides to cook and sell methamphetamine. His knowledge of chemistry needed someone who knew the world of drugs, so he teams up with Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul), a former student of his.
If there is something that strongly characterizes this series, it is its desert terrain and its dense and uncomfortable atmosphere. Part of this was accomplished by the setting where the series was produced, Albuquerque, New Mexico. This place in the USA is named repeatedly in history, something that fans were quick to notice. This led to them even visiting real scenes where the series had been filmed, such as the house of Walter Whitea place that once went viral because hundreds of people recreated the scene in which the character threw a pizza on top of its roof, causing the owners of the property to have to take out the small tribute over and over again.
This extraordinary movement in the area, caused by the fame of the series, was not innocuous for the local authorities. It is that the visits generated important economic income, which in turn promoted other attractions of Albuqerque. That is why they decided to pay tribute to the main characters of the story, Jesse Pinkman Y Walter Whiteinaugurating a statue representing them both.
For the presentation they were invited both Aaron Paul What Bryan Cranston, who were quite excited about the tribute. When the small act was carried out, the statue was covered by a green cloth that the protagonists removed, with the amusing detail that when it was removed, Aaron involuntarily covered Cranston’s head, who for a few seconds could not do anything, while hitting to definitively remove the cloth from her face to continue with the act as if nothing had happened.
A very funny and emotional moment, which further reinforces everything generated by one of the best series in history.
