In episode 6 of season 4 of “The Resident”, broadcast tonight at 9:55 p.m. on TF1, viewers will meet a new character: Billie Sutton. A friend of Nic played by Jessica Lucas, seen in “Melrose Place” and “Gotham”.
While the future of the series is currently uncertain in the United States, season 4 of The Resident continues this Wednesday evening in France on TF1 with two new episodes which will notably be marked by a tragedy involving Nic (Emily VanCamp) and by the arrival of a new character embodied by Jessica Lucas (Gotham) who will gradually become a key figure in the medical series.
Stabbed by a patient, Nic, pregnant with Conrad (Matt Czuchry), will find herself in critical condition. A drama that will push Billie Sutton, one of her closest friends, to return to Atlanta to go to her bedside.
Although she’s never appeared before in The Resident, Billie is no stranger to the characters as she was a neurosurgery resident at Chastain before she made a big mistake and got fired.
Initially, relations are not good between Billie and Conrad since it is the latter who is at the origin of the dismissal of the resident in neurosurgery. But Billie will prove to be of great help in saving Nic and her baby, which will push Conrad to see her in a new light and to offer her to stay some time in Atlanta to take care of his wife.
Over the episodes, Billie will gain in importance, to the point of becoming a regular character from season 5, already broadcast in the United States. And her presence in Chastain promises to upset Conrad, on whom the young doctor will have an unexpected impact in seasons 5 and 6.

Revealed in 2000 by her role as Bekka Lawrence in the Canadian teen series Edgemont, which also launched the careers of Kristin Kreuk (Smallville) and Grace Park (Battlestar Galactica, Hawaii 5-0), Jessica Lucas joined the cast of Experts in the shoes of Ronnie Lake. This character is then probably destined to replace Sara Sidle (Jorja Fox) within the team, but ultimately does not last long since the actress is thanked after only four episodes.
In 2009, Jessica Lucas landed the role of Riley in the event reboot of Melrose Place on The CW channel. Unfortunately, this new version, which mixes new faces and old characters such as Sydney (Laura Leighton), Michael (Thomas Calabro) and Amanda (Heather Locklear) does not meet with the expected success and is canceled at the end of its first season.

The actress continues her career in unknown series in France such as Cult or Gracepoint (American remake of Broadchurch) before joining the Gotham adventure in 2015, in which she lends from season 2 her features to Tabitha Galavan, alias Tigress , who is none other than the sister of Theo Galavan and who is part of the Gotham City Sirens gang.
On the cinema side, Jessica Lucas notably distinguished herself in Le Pacte du sang, Cloverfield, in which she played Lily, Evil Dead, and Pompeii with Kit Harington.
