Notably by the inimitable Steve Carell, but also by Rainn Wilson and the young John Krasinski.

The actor looks back on his audition on The Office

John Krasinski is also back on his hearing to join The Office. Although he only has a secondary role in the show, it was a real springboard to his career. At the time, John Krasinski was not yet famous. A deliberate choice of the production which precisely sought actors unknown to the general public. So much so that Phyllis Smith who played Phyllis was not even an actress at the time of her casting, but a real receptionist. Likewise, Jenna Fischer, who plays Pam Beesly, was about to hang up before being selected for the role.

the New York Post recently published an article that reviews the embarrassing hearing of John Krasinski during his interview for The Office. According to the actor, one of his answers to a question got him in trouble. Indeed, during his meeting with the production, he was asked if he was nervous. To which he replied:

I am terrified of the people who create this kind of show. I just feel like Americans have enormous experience in ruining great series through failed remakes.

It was found that the man who gave him his interview was none other than Greg Daniels, the creator of this remake of The Office. When John Krasinski heard about this, his face became “Vomit green”. Then he called his manager to tell him: “I will disappear now”. However, despite such a comment, Greg Daniels appreciated Krasinski’s honesty and used the latter in the role of Jim Halpert. At the time John Krasinski was only 23 years. And this impertinent remark earned him the first big role of his career. Like what, a little honesty sometimes doesn’t hurt … The Office (US version) is also still available on the Netflix platform.
