The Mother | Netflix Premiere: Trailer, Synopsis – Jennifer Lopez

Joseph Fiennes and Gael García Bernal accompany JLo in an action adventure and revenge in which we will see the actress in mother courage mode

It is true that we are more used to seeing the actress and singer Jennifer Lopez in a calmer and more romantic tone. But that does not mean that JLo has not distributed shots and wafers like loaves in his career on the big screen. In fact, in ‘An Explosive Wedding’ (from Prime Video) he mixed both genres. Now, it comes to Netflix with an action thriller. It is about ‘The Mother’ (The Mother).

It will do so under the direction of Niki Caro, which is not that I have much experience in the genre. We know her from the live action movie ‘Mulan’ (Disney in 2020) or by the Amazon Prime Video series ‘Everybody loves Daisy Jones.’

The film ‘La Madre’ (The Mother) with Jennifer Lopez premieres on May 12, 2023 on Netflix. It is one of the most anticipated films of the streaming giant for this season in which it has been involved in certain controversies with its policy change.

What is ‘The Mother’ about? Synopsis of the film

The film follows a deadly assassin who is forced to come out of hiding and put herself in danger in front of all those who want to end it. The reason for her to get out of her life behind her back is that she has to protect her daughter, whom she gave up for adoption years ago. Reunited after so long, the two women will be forced to flee and fight for their lives as they try to put together what they thought was broken.

Along with Jennifer Lopez as that brave and savior matriarch, the film’s cast is rounded out by Joseph Fiennes (the famous Commander Waterford in ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’) and the Mexican Gael Garcia Bernal. Accompanying this trio of protagonists we have Omari Hardwick (‘Army of the Dead’), Paul Raci (‘Sound of Metal’) and Lucy Paez (‘Silence’), among others.
