At age 20, Kim Basinger became one of the highest paid models, as she signed a contract with one of the most sought-after agencies in the world: Ford Modeling Agency.

Despite her success, she preferred to move to Los Angeles to become an actress, which led her to become a ‘Bond girl’ and later, to be a Playboy, since she was on the cover of the magazine in ’83. positioned as one of the sexiest women of the time.

Before reaching the big screen, Kim participated in episodes of Charlie’s Angels until her great success as an actress in Never Say Never Again (1983). Thus, Basinger has a memorable film career; from acting in Batman with Michael Keaton, to being part of Bond with Sean Connery.

This was her most successful performance, as she received the Oscar and the Golden Globe for ‘Best Supporting Actress’. This film directed by Curtis Hanson is based on the novel by James Ellroy, three policemen try to decipher the massacre at the Nite Owl cafe and get complicated, they find other witnesses such as Lynn Bracken, played by Kim.

Never Say Never Again (1983)

In this film, Basinger made her debut as a Bond girl, playing Domino Petachi. Prior to this role, the model turned down two roles in Bond movies, feeling that playing such a character would not give her the seriousness she needed in Hollywood. In the end she agreed to be a Bond because it would give her international fame and it was.

Batman (1989)

Kim is the reporter Vicky Vale, who is in Gotham City to do a story on Batman, but soon begins a relationship with Bruce Wayne. Directed by Tim Burton and starring Michael Keaton, this film represents the beginning of Batman in the cinema.

The Marrying Man

It was on the set of this film that Kim’s relationship with Alec Baldwin, who was her husband for nine years, began. In The Marrying Man, Basinger plays a singer in a strip club, who meets Charley Pearl, and due to an encounter, they are forced to marry.

The Door in the Floor (2004)

Along with Jeff Bridges (Ted), in this film Basinger (Marion) has a marriage that seemed perfect, until tragedy strikes. After multiple infidelities with his wife, Ted Cole hires a summer assistant with whom Marion has sex, and neither of them will live the same.
