The day Joe Pesci bit Macaulay Culkin filming MY Poor Little Angel

In 1990, at the age of just ten, Macaulay Culkin rose to fame as the brave and self-sufficient Kevin McCallister in My poor angel. The Christmas comedy directed by Chris Columbus was an instant global hit and Culkin quickly became one of the most wanted kids in film.

After working alongside such greats as Catherine O’Hara, Daniel Stern and Joe Pesci, Culkin is a true veteran of acting, and he’s got the scar to show it.

In an interview in Late Night With Conan O’BrienCulkin recalled filming the scene from My poor angel in which Pesci and Stern, playing incompetent burglar duo Harry and Marv, hang him from a door. Harry tells Kevin: “I’m going to bite each of your fingers one at a time”, and at rehearsal, Pesci physically bit him. According to Culkin, “It scarred my skin and everything!”

Now, Culkin has a scar on his finger. to remember the famous actor, loved for his violent and deranged characters in classic films like Good boys, Wild bull Y Casino.

When O’Brian asked Culkin if he was mad that Pesci bit him, he replied, “Yeah, I did! I got really mad at him. I was like, ‘I don’t care how many Oscars you have! You’re biting a nine-year-old, what the hell is wrong with you?'”

“I wanted to act for children because I never work for children,” he said, and according to behind-the-scenes stories, Pesci’s approach to working with children was anything but typical.

As an adult, he can laugh at himself and composes himself with an air of confidence that is missing from several other child stars. He understands that people love his movies, but he will still have limits with his fans. (For example, don’t ask him to put his hands to his cheeks and yell.)

The guy also seems really down to earth and open-minded. The start a band called Pizza Underground that performs Velvet Underground songs with lettering about pizza. She puts nail polish on her fingertips and picks out the projects she’s working on these days.
