The Batman 2: All about the sequel to the film with Robert Pattinson

Considered one of the best film adaptations of the DC Comics hero, “The Batman” will soon return to the big screen for a second installment, as indicated by director Matt Reeves last April. Here’s everything we know about it.

The countdown has already started. Released in France on June 7, “The Batman” with Robert Pattinson in the role of the famous DC Comics hero melted critics and spectators with a deliciously dark film. The success is such that a second part is already planned, as confirmed by director Matt Reeves last April at CinemaCon in Las Vegas.

Recently, we learned that screenwriter Mattson Tomlin, known for his work on “Mother / Android” and on the first “The Batman”, had agreed to return to the group of authors. Great news for all fans of the franchise.

What do we know about the plot?

According to the American site The Hollywood Reporter, the mystery remains. The reason is simple: the writing hasn’t started yet, but the writers are expected to start in the coming weeks. However, it’s a safe bet that when the scenario is completed, Warner Bros. will be the first to ensure that no leaks are to be deplored.

Robert Pattinson and Matt Reeves, for their part, spoke about what they would like to see in this sequel. The 36-year-old actor notably expressed his wish to integrate the character of Robin. He also clarified that he would like to see him beaten to death by the Joker in the same way as in the comics.

Matt Reeves, for his part, promised that he would keep the same course for the next film, namely to tell the stories of a hero in the most realistic way possible. Note that there is no certainty that the Joker – who appears briefly in his cell in Arkham Asylum at the end of the first installment – will be the villain of the second installment (knowing that a trilogy is likely).

When will ‘The Batman 2’ hit theaters?

The writing has not even started when these lines are written, it will necessarily require a lot of patience. The script should only be completed in 3 to 6 months, which means that production will not begin until mid-2023. The first ‘The Batman’ took 18 months to shoot – partly due to the pandemic, admittedly – and considering post-production time, it’s hard to see a release before the end of the year. 2024, see early 2025. And this in a scenario where the agendas of the main protagonists are perfectly aligned with each other.

In an interview with the American site comicbook.com, producer Dylan Clark was asked about the waiting time before seeing a second part see the light of day. “I’m going to be recorded saying it should take less than 5 years,” he said.

We wish to thank the writer of this write-up for this outstanding material
