Stranger Things: Linda Hamilton joins the cast of the fifth season | CineChronicle

The iconic Terminator actress will hold an as-yet-unknown role in the final season of Stranger Things.

While the fifth and final season of Stranger Things is fast approaching, Netflix has just announced the arrival of a new major recruit. According varietyLinda Hamilton would thus join the conclusion of the famous series.

The 67-year-old actress became world famous thanks to her role as Sarah Connor in the franchise terminator. If she already shone in the 1984 film, it is more particularly in the second opus, Terminator: Judgment Day, where she becomes a real badass action heroine, which definitely makes her enter the imagination of the spectators.

If the rest of her filmography will unfortunately not live up to this cult role, Linda Hamilton has nevertheless participated in other feature films that marked the 80s and 90s.

The same year as terminatorshe was thus one of the heroines of the horror film The Corn Children, adapted from a short story by Stephen King. This first will mark the beginning of a large franchise still active today, with more than ten films on the clock.

The actress will also star in Dante’s Peak in 1991, a disaster film with Pierce Brosnan, featuring a gigantic volcanic eruption.

If the rest of Hamilton’s career contains only a few notable films, the actress was nevertheless also illustrated on the small screen. His role in the television adaptation of The beauty and the Beast, alongside Ron Perlman, had thus marked a whole generation of spectators during 56 episodes.

Recently she had tried a comeback reprising his iconic role in Terminator: Dark Fate (2019). The critical and commercial failure of the film having cut this return short, it is not surprising that Hamilton decided to once again head for the series format. It is not yet known what role the actress will play in Stranger Things.

Hamilton thus joins the long list of former glories of the 80s to have joined the cast of the fantastic show. Over the seasons we find pell-mell, Matthew Modine (Full Metal Jacket And birdie), Sean Astin (The Goonies, The Lord of the Rings), Cary Elwes (Princess Bride) and especially Robert Englund (Freddy Krueger).

The fifth season of Stranger Things will thus mark the conclusion of the program, one of the most watched among Netflix productions. If no release date has yet been announced, this final burst of episodes should not be put online before the end of 2024.
