While right now, fans of Star Wars enjoy the new series Andor on Disney+, where you can notably find many references to other periods of the universe initially created by george lucas. Earlier in the week, we also explained to you this reference to the Old Republic that you probably missed in the latest episode. And lately it’s the Hollywood star Christian Bale who shared his desire to join the famous franchise, through a certain reference that only a few purists will have.
a rather atypical reference
After playing the Dark Knight of the DC Universe in Christopher Nolan’s trilogy, Christian Bale also made his debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), with the film Thor: Love and Thunder released earlier this year, in which he plays the character of Gorr, aka the Butcher of the Gods. And after DC and Marvel, the British-American actor expressed his attraction to the Star Wars universeconfident that he was particularly interested in breaking into the franchise.
Bale was invited by The Hollywood Reporter to discuss the release of his upcoming film, titled amsterdam, in which we find him alongside some big names in the industry such as Margot Robbie, Rami Malek, Robert De Niro, Chris Rock, or Taylor Swift. As the discussion progressed, the subject turned to the franchise Star Wars, thus questioning the actor concerning his desire to participate in a project of the franchise. Find Christian Bale’s full response below:
All I ever wanted to be in Star Wars was to be in a Star Wars outfit and bump my head as I passed by a door or something. True nerds who have watched Star Wars far too often know that famous scene where the Stormtrooper bangs his head against the door as he walks by. That’s the guy I wanted to be. It was him. But listen, if I’m lucky enough to be more than that […]. What fun that would be. I still have the figurines from when I was little. I also know Kathy Kennedy very well. [la présidente de Lucasfilm]because she was working with Spielberg when I made the film Empire of the Sunand now she rules the Star Wars universe.
And the thing is, it’s not the first time Bale has shared his interest in joining the franchise.. Already a few years ago, it was confirmed that the actor was in talks to appear in the film Solo: A Star Wars Storyreleased in 2018. At the time, he had already spoken of his enduring love for the franchise.
With the movie amsterdam, Bale will also star in Scott Cooper’s upcoming feature, titled The Pale Blue Eyewhich is normally slated for release on Netflix in January next year.
And to find out why Christian Bale didn’t want to speak to Chris Rock on the set of his latest moviesee our previous article on the subject, right here.
