Tom Hanks’ missed cameo
During a recent podcast intervention Happy Sad ConfusedTom Hanks, currently starring in Pinocchio on Disney+, made an unexpected statement. In effect, the comedian revealed he was set to appear in Solo: A Star Wars Story time for a cameo:
I had to do this, yeah. I couldn’t get it to work. I couldn’t get there in time. I think if you do a survey, all kinds of famous people have been in stormtrooper gear. Daniel Craig was one of them. Even movie executives have turned out to be Stormtroopers. I would have loved to do that.
It’s a real shame that Tom Hanks didn’t get his own cameo. Especially since star appearances in Stormtrooper costumes are starting to be a small tradition at LucasFilm and Disney. Daniel Craig camps one of them in The force awakens. Tom Hardy was also to be a Stormtrooper in The Last Jedi, before being cut during editing.
