Robin Hood: Taron Egerton knows it sucked (but it paid well)

Taron Egerton is not very proud of his Robin Hood modernized, big flop of 2018, which he had accepted for a big salary.

Nothing beats that little treat in the face of turned jackets in Hollywood, when an actor or actress finally opens their hearts after being a good little soldier for months or even years. Mickey Rourke and Iron Man 2Emilia Clarke and Terminator GenisysJamie Foxx and StealthMark Wahlberg and Phenomena (and Boogie Nightsbut that’s another story again), Sarah Jessica Parker with Sex & the City 2or Shia LaBeouf’s bingo plus with almost all of his filmo: it’s an unmissable event.

New entry on the honesty list: Taron Egerton. the Kingsman and Rocketman had rubbed shoulders with Robin Hood in yet another adaptation, released in 2018, where he gave the reply to Jamie Foxx in Not-so-little-Jean, and Ben Mendelsohn as a bad sheriff. If you had forgotten the existence of this blockbuster, it is normal: the film directed by Otto Bathurst was a flop, with around 86 million at the box office, for a budget of 100 million.

Taron Egerton recognizes this bad choice, but out comes the silver and youth joker.

Steal from the rich > work to be rich

The actor enjoyed an interview with The New York Times to put Robin Hood and Billionaire Boys Club (also released in 2018) in the same bag, and throw everything in the trash:

“I ignored my instincts on those two movies, because I was offered a nice amount of money to do them. And that’s just fatal. You don’t have to choose your roles like that. But I think that I should be kinder to myself. I was a 25-year-old kid, who had been raised by a single mother with very little money. I wanted to make money, not just for me, but for people who are important to me. And while I’m not happy with those movies, I can clearly see, in retrospect, why I made them.”

Robin Hood : Fotograf Jamie Foxx, Taron EgertonThe heroes are always handsome and well dressed

All is forgiven, since Taron Egerton continued with the role of Elton John in Rocketmanand lent his voice to one of the heroes of the magnificent Netflix series Dark Crystal: Time of Resistance.

Next stop on the road to stardom (and big bucks): a possible role at Marvelsince everyone is screaming that he would make a good Wolverine, and he has already discussed some still mysterious projects with the studio.
