Paradise City: Bruce Willis and John Travolta clash in the trailer

Bruce Willis and John Travolta face off in the trailer for the new film by chuck russell, Paradise City.

In 1994, Quentin Tarantino revived Bruce Willis (splattered by the failure of the sulphurous thriller Color of Night) and John Travolta (restricted to inane comedies like the saga Hello mama here baby). The filmmaker brought the two men together for a third time on screen after collaborations on the franchise Hello mama here baby precisely (Bruce Willis doubled the famous toddler there). Fortunately for them, pulp Fiction offered them a much more enriching shared experience.

However, caught up in their age, the two men experienced more chaotic career consequences. Thirty years later Pulp Fiction, Travolta officiates in episodes of television series or in DTV. As for Bruce Willis, handicapped by health problems, he put an end to his career and would have even considered lend his face for digital use. However, to the delight of fans, the two actors will find themselves in the new action film from Chuck Russell, Paradise City. And a trailer of the film is also available and illustrates their future confrontation.

Paradise City tells the story of a bounty hunter played by Bruce Willis who wishes to avenge the death of his father. He will have to fight with Hawaiian organized crime, led by John Travolta. A light synopsis which promises on the other hand a frantic narration punctuated by shootings and executions of all kinds as confirmed by the first images of the trailer. Chuck Russell is about to kick off a killing game in line with his work on The Eraser.

A priori, Paradise City will undoubtedly propose yet another association between a young wolf with long teeth and an old backpacker, a mentor in spite of himself, determined to settle accounts with the murderer who destroyed his family. This assumption is based on the sketchy characterization of the characters presented in this trailer, which reveals elementary stakes in the rhythm of the stunts and combat situation seen unfortunately too often in other feature films.

Bruce Willis is waiting for John Travolta. Reunion after Pulp Fiction

This is why we hope for a little better from this B series than the few sequences exposed in this trailer (even if deep down, we know very well that we should not hope too much). Directed by Chuck Russel to whom we owe the cult film The Mask, but also mediocre feature films like The Eraser Where The Scorpion King, Paradise City only arouses curiosity thanks to the old glories that appear in the cast. As for its release, it is scheduled for November 11, 2022 in the United States, but no date has been confirmed to date for France.
