In the rest of the cast of the series, we find Hugo Becker (at the head of The art of crime on France 2) who plays Henri II, Samuel Labarthe (François 1er), Virginie Ledoyen (Anne de Pisseleu), Gaia Girace, Gérard Depardieu, Olivier Gourmet, Jeanne Balibar (Marguerite de Navarre), JoeyStarr who plays the Count of Kervannes (to the head of the series Replacing on TF1), Julie Depardieu (head of the series Alexandra Ehle on France 3) and Guillaume Gallienne.

JoeyStarr told TVmag about her role in Diane de Poitiers: “I play the Count of Kervannes. He is a plotter. I’m teaming up with a guy, my squire, whose tongue was cut out for blasphemy. We are always in a very dark posture, we are dressed in black, very “caillera”. I like the role because we are very prepared. I had never acted in costume. Likewise, we don’t speak French, we speak Francoys. »

The first reviews of Diane de Poitiers from internet users

@NadegePageau writes: “Big disappointment for #DianedePoitiers after the 1st part. It’s boring! False rhythm, disjointed scenario, the dialogues are hollow, bad actor direction, many drown, starting with Adjani (where is the passion, the intellectual finesse?) Outrageous Balmer 1 »

@Nathanael42 writes: “When I look at Isabelle Adjani in #DianeDePoitiers I have the impression of seeing Cyrille Laurent with a wig, it disturbs me! 😅 »

@SindyLaNordiste writes: “Given the bad reviews.. And they seem to outnumber the positive ones.. I will still watch #DianeDePoitiers . because apparently Mr Samuel’s performance is masterful.. and he saves the furniture it seems 🫤 Just because what is there 🙏 »

@alienor381 writes: “Ledoyen (beautifully poisonous) Gallienne (small role but a brilliant Ambroise Paré) impeccable. Hugo Becker superb Henry II. They survived despite an incredibly bad direction of actors: the palm of delirious antics to talented JF Balmer usually. (…) Then the scenario: Diane de Poitiers is fascinating, her legend has crossed the centuries and this mini series in fact… I can’t say what exactly! It’s flat, insipid, devoid of emotion… And yet I’m a good audience, emotional all the way” (…) “Adjani? Where is the passion, the excess, the political finesse, the mad love that we think we find in Diane de Poitiers? Such mannered playing, such artificial and inaudible phrasing, recurrent fiddling with locks, such a terrible absence in the background… but what a disappointment! »

If you like this series don’t miss Marie Antoinette on Canal + or The Empress on Netflix.

Press criticism for Diane de Poitiers

2 stars for Cable Sat TV who believes that the subtlety of the script or the editing is sometimes absent subscribers. There is despite everything “a real romantic breath of this fresco”. Isabelle Adjani is surprising and irresistible.
1 star for TV 2 weeks : a complete historical drama that is worth for its casting.
7 for TV 7 days who judges that the staging, a little outdated, does not have the expected magnitude.
TT for TV Star who thinks we’re a very honest historical biopic
