“Only Murders in the Building”, season 3: this Hollywood star joins Selena Gomez

Season 3 is on its way! Since its launch in 2021, the Hulu series “Only Murders in the Building”, broadcast on Disney+ in France, has been a favorite with critics and viewers. The reason ? Its tasty mix of police intrigue and humor, and the chemistry of its casting.

Driven by Selena Gomez, Martin Short and Steve Martin – tasty trio -, she tells the daily life of three inhabitants of Arconia, a mansion on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, who decide to launch their true crime podcast to solve a murder committed in building. The success of the first burst of episodes was confirmed by the second, put online during the summer of 2022, and marked by the arrival of a secondary character carried by Cara Delevingne.

Season 3, confirmed in July 2022, is currently filming. The good news was announced by Selena Gomez, aka Mabel Mora in the series, on January 17, on her social networks. If we learned a few weeks ago that an actor from “Grey’s Anatomy” will be therethe actress delighted all moviegoers by also announcing the arrival of a new major recruit.

In a video posted on TikTok and Instagram, the American actress first shows the presence of her two co-stars, Martin Short (Oliver) and Steve (Martin), at her side, then launches “Could that become even better? Oh wait…”.

This is when Paul Rudd, who had appeared in two episodes of season 2, appears and who says in turn: “Well, I think it could be even better…”. That’s when it appears Meryl Streep. We don’t yet know what role the 73-year-old actress will play (a new resident of Arconia? A friend of Olivier or Martin?), but her presence can only confirm the success of the Hulu series. A photo of the five main actors was later shared by several cast members.

This announcement is all the more pleasing as it will be the first appearance of the multi-Oscar-winning actress on the small screen since her role in season 2 of “Big Little Lies” (2019) in which she played the mother of the character of Celestecamped by Nicole Kidman. She also had a lead role in the Netflix film “Don’t Look Up”, released at the end of 2021, with Leonardo DiCaprioJennifer Lawrence or even Cate Blanchett.

Season 3 of “Only Murders in the Building” will arrive in 2023 on Disney+.
