Neil Patrick Harris slammed Nick Jonas’ remade remark online: ‘How do celebrities get away with it’? – News 24

Neil Patrick Harris has sparked a backlash online over comments he made about Nick Jonas during a 2015 appearance on ‘The Wendy Williams Show’.

In a resurfaced excerpt from the interview, the 49-year-old actor admitted he had a “crush” on the now 30-year-old singer.

“And he was really handsome before he was allowed to think he was handsome, which was a bit of a problem, you kind of had to wait until he was, you know, 19 to 20, and then you’re like, ‘What’s going on?’” Harris added.

Harris made the remarks during the show’s “Hot Seat” segment after Williams asked the “How I Met Your Mother” alum who her “celebrity crush” was, aside from husband David Burtka.

“not the laughing crowd,” wrote one user, adding a grimacing smiley face emoji.

“Jesus. The crowd’s second goofy laugh. They ended up hanging on for a minute,” added another.

However, some of Harris’ fans came to his defense with one user writing, “Why wouldn’t they get away with it? Just saying it’s not a criminal offence.”

This isn’t the first time Harris has been called out by fans. In May, the two-time Emmy Award winner apologized after a morbid joke he made about the death of Amy Winehouse resurfaced.

Harris and Burtka presented “The Corpse of Amy Winehouse” buffet platter at their Halloween party just months after her death in 2011.

“A photo recently surfaced at a Halloween-themed party my husband and I threw 11 years ago,” Harris told Entertainment Weekly in a statement at the time. “It was unfortunate then, and it remains unfortunate today. Amy Winehouse was a once-in-a-generation talent, and I’m sorry for any hurt this image caused.”
