Mindy Kaling on Reese Witherspoon’s Son’s ‘Never Have I Ever’ Concert – Nifey

Famous fans! Reese Witherspoon and ryan philippeDeacon Phillippe’s son made his acting debut in Season 3 of I have neverand the show’s creative team were very pleased with their work.

“We were breaking up the season and there was this role that seemed like the perfect fit for Deacon,” the show’s co-creator said. Mindy Kaling Told Variety on Friday, August 12, noting that Witherspoon, 46, had previously informed her that Deacon, 18, wanted to become an actor. “He’s obviously so talented and he’s handsome, and we just thought he would be awesome and he was excited to come and do it.”

The high school graduate appears in two episodes of the Netflix comedy as Parker, who is a prep classmate of new character Des (Anirudh Pisharody). The 9-1-1 alum, for her part, plays a new love interest for leading lady Devi Vishwakumar (Maitreyi Ramakrishnan) in Season 3, which dropped on Friday. Amid Devi and Des’ budding connection, the pair face off as debate team rivals. Deacon’s Parker is also an integral part of the debate team.

“He’s just such a well-behaved kid. He’s so talented, he’s so funny, and he fits in perfectly with the cast. The cast and crew loved him and it was special to have him,” said the Mindy Project alum, 43, told the outlet during the new season’s red carpet premiere. “He’s such a humble kid and he just wants to learn. And he was raised by two very successful actors. He’s not suspicious or anything. He just came with this open mind and was excited.

The Revenge of a Blonde the actress and the big sky alum, 47, married in 1998 before having daughter Ava, now 22, and son Deacon. The duo eventually separated in 2008 but remained co-parents amicably.

‘Ryan has been a great parent and it pretty much just stops for him when his kids need him,’ a source said exclusively. We Weekly in December 2021, noting that co-parenting has “never been better” between the two stars. “Even during the pandemic, when he was literally in another country, he is present in their lives and he is still the ‘cool parent’ in their eyes. He is really proud of who they have become.

Deacon, in addition to continuing to act on WHILEalso showed an interest in music – which also got Witherspoon and Ryan excited.

“I’m so proud. He’s about to go to college for music [too],” the I know what you did last summer actor gushed entertainment tonight earlier this month. “That’s his main goal. The acting he likes to do, and he will do it according to his appetite, but he mainly focuses on music. … I’m super proud.

The big little lies alum was equally in awe of her eldest son’s accomplishments and couldn’t even stop watching WHILE season 3.

“I stuff myself I have never“, Witherspoon – who also shares son Tennessee, 9, with her husband Jim Toth – said in an Instagram Story video on Friday. “It is so good [and] it’s really funny. … OKAY, [Devi] is with this other guy now and oh my god he is so cute [and] they kiss each other completely! I have to go [watch] the next episode [now].”

Kaling was thrilled to see her friend, and frequent collaborator, enjoying the new episodes. “OMFG the queen,” she captioned the images of Witherspoon, sharing them on her story. “Elle Woods look at @neverhaveiever, I could die.”
