In principle, there is a Metal Gear Solid movie. It has a director, an actor has been chosen to play Solid Snake, and a script has even been validated. However, years after the announcement, still no news of the project. What motivate some fans to be imaginative.

In 2017, a year that seems extremely distantwe learned that the film Metal Gear Solida real sea serpent in the world of adaptations, was indeed in development. There realization was entrusted to Jordan Vogt-Roberts (Kong Skull Island) with, supposedly, the blessing of Hideo Kojima. To embody Solid Snake, the production set its sights on Oscar Isaac, who we find in Star Wars in the skin of Poe Dameron. There is also talk of a script written in 2018 by Derek Connoly (Jurassic World 1 & 2, Pacific Rim: Uprising) and finalized in 2020. Yet, nothing really seems to have progressed to the point that we now speak of a arlesian and that we doubt that he will ever come out.
This doubt has been present since last year, when the director mentioned the difficulties associated with such a project. Jordan Vogt-Roberts thought he would be on set in 2021 but obviously obtaining the necessary budget is very complicated, and the pandemic hasn’t helped. Last I heard, the director was “settle a lot of things“, while Oscar Isaac indicated in March 2022 that the team was still looking the right angle to adapt this license cult of cinema. We are therefore obviously not close to seeing this adaptation of the games imagined by Hideo Kojima, but that does not hinder the creativity of the fans.

Avid Metal Gear and Call of Duty player, Nelson Z. Spencer regularly shares his creations, made using artificial intelligence, on Twitter and Instagram. He notably imagined an adaptation of Devil May Cry with Evan Peters in the role of Dante, for a result as disturbing as it is relevant. But for Metal Gear, he had the complete cast in mind, as well as a clear idea of the game to adapt. Unsurprisingly, Nelson Z. Spencer thought the best thing to do would be to adapt Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eatera remake of which is currently in development as Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater.
To embody the terrible Yevgeny Borisovitch Volgin, the creator thought of Dolph Lundgren, seen in Rocky, Creed or Expandables. To play The Sorrow, we find an actor in whom Kojima has already granted his confidence in the person of Mads Mikkelsen. This one has a huge career (Indiana Jones, Hannibal, Star Wars, James Bond) and played Cliff in Death Stranding. A choice that also seems wise when you know the character and the style of play of the actor. To embody The Boss, Nelson Z. Spencer thought of the inevitable Margot Robbiewhom we saw brilliantly embodying Harley Quinn and who is currently starring alongside Ryan Gosling in Barbie. Finally, we had to look into the case of Snake, whose destiny is, as you surely know, to become Big Boss.
And who else that Henry Cavill could have been chosen ? Relieved of the costume of Geralt and Superman, the British would be free! Of course, this fictional cast is accompanied by visuals worked using AI, and we must say that it rather makes you want to. But to see a real movie based on Metal Gear, you will have to wait for news of the current project, or wait for a new production to be announced. Ah, and we would have almost forgotten it, but it’s the tireless Willem Dafoe who, in this fantasy adaptation, would play the role of The Fear!
