The cast of Friends is in mourning. Michael Hagerty, the interpreter of Mr Treeger, the concierge of the building of the famous band, died in Los Angeles on May 5 at the age of 67.
New disappearance in the cast of Friends. After James Michael Tyler (Gunther) died of cancer on October 24, 2021, another interpreter of a secondary character in the cult series has just disappeared. It is Michael Hagertywho lent his features to Mr Treeger, the grumpy janitor to Ross, Rachel, Monica, Chandler and Joey. Despite his bad temper, the background character, known for making Rachel cry (Jennifer Aniston) had been able to gain importance for ten seasons, proving time and time again that he had a good background.
The death of Michael G. Hagertywhose causes have not yet been made public, was reported by the actress Bridget Everett this Friday, May 6. The one who was his playmate in the HBO series Somebody, Somewherepaid tribute to him on his Instagram account: “It is with great sadness that the family of Michael G. Hagerty announced his passing yesterday in Los Angeles. A much-loved actor, whose love for his hometown Chicago and his family have been the mainstays of his life. Mike was a devoted husbandand leaves behind his wife Mary Kathryn, his sister Mary Ann Hagerty and his wife Kathleen O’Rourke, as well as their daughter Meg. We will miss him“, she wrote in addition to a photo of the actor, which shows him smiling.

Originally from Chicago, Michael Hagerty leaves behind a career in supporting roles in iconic fiction such as the series Seinfieldanother sitcom in which he starred just before Friendsin 1994, but also Grey’s Anatomyor even recently Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Small contributions that don’t equal Mr. Treeger in the hearts of Friends fans. The stars of the cult series have so far not reacted.
