Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band’s 2023 tour will be postponed until 2024, citing doctor’s advice.
The Boss, who last week celebrated his 74th birthday, is “steadily recovering” from peptic ulcer disease, a press release read. “Out of an abundance of caution,” the remainder of this year’s tour has been pushed to next year.
Earlier this month, Springsteen announced that he would be postponing all of his September 2023 dates while he was treated for symptoms related to the disease, which causes ulcers to form in the stomach or small intestine that can cause heartburn, nausea and stomach pain.
Those postponed shows included stops in Baltimore, Philadelphia, Albany and Syracuse in New York, Pittsburgh, Washington, and shows in Connecticut and Ohio.
The newly postponed shows include Canadian dates and a West Coast run of Phoenix, San Diego, Los Angeles, and San Francisco.
Rescheduled concerts will be announced this week and will take place at the original venues.
Peptic ulcer disease can be dangerous, leading to bleeding and emergency situations such as perforation of the ulcer through the stomach. Typical treatment uses common drugs called proton pump inhibitors, such as Prilosec, which can help heal the ulcers within four to six weeks. People who are treated “recover completely from peptic ulcer disease,” Dr. Lawrence Kosinski of the American Gastroenterological Association told AP.
“Thanks to all my friends and fans for your good wishes, encouragement, and support,” Springsteen said in a short statement. “I’m on the mend and can’t wait to see you all next year.”
News of Springsteen’s illness first emerged in May of this year, when he postponed three dates.
Springsteen’s 2023 tour, his first in six years, kicked off on Feb. 1 in Tampa, Florida, before 20,000 fans who mostly stood through the 28-song arena show that included staples like “Born to Run,” “Glory Days,” “Rosalita,” “Promised Land” and “Backstreets.”

The studio lights are going dark at “ET Canada.”
Corus Entertainment says it has decided to cease production on the long-running Canadian arts and entertainment news magazine after 18 seasons.
The media company blames the cost of producing a daily show in “a challenging advertising environment.” It did not specify what date would be the final edition of the program.
“Entertainment Tonight Canada,” the name it used when it launched in 2005, put a distinctly Canadian lens on the world of film, television and music.
Over the years, its hosts have included former MuchMusic VJ Rick Campanelli and R&B singer Keshia Chanté.
“ET Canada” is currently co-hosted by Sangita Patel and Cheryl Hickey, who has been with the show since its start.

Ozzy Osbourne is planning to record “one more album” before going back on tour in 2024.
The 74-year-old Black Sabbath legend – who has undergone a series of spinal operations after suffering a fall in 2019 – has undergone his “final surgery” and has some big plans for the coming year.
He told Metal Hammer magazine: “I’m getting myself fit. I’ve done two albums fairly recently, but I want to do one more album and then go back on the road.”
Ozzy – who worked with Andrew Watt on both 2020’s ‘Ordinary Man’ and last year’s ‘Patient Number 9’ – has a studio at his home in the UK, and he is looking to get Watt back in there to work on some new material.
He added: “I’m just starting to work on it now, and we’ll be recording in the early part of next year. I want to take my time with this one!”
When it comes to his recovery from surgery and his fall, the ‘Crazy Train’ hitmaker admitted he is struggling to “get used to this mode of living.”
He explained: “I’ve had all the surgery now, thank God. I’m feeling OK — it was just dragging on.
“I thought I’d be back on my feet months ago, I just couldn’t get used to this mode of living, constantly having something wrong.
“I can’t walk properly yet, but I’m not in any pain any more and the surgery on my spine went great.”
Back in July, Ozzy was forced to announced the “painful” decision to pull out of three day heavy metal festival Power Trip in California – where he was set to perform next month – due to health reasons, and he has been replaced by his friends in Judas Priest.
Ozzy – who has Parkinson’s disease – previously admitted he didn’t want to put on a “half-a****” performance for fans.
Announcing his decision to bow out of the festival, he wrote: “As painful as this is, I’ve had to make the decision to bow out of performing on Power Trip in October.
“My original plan was to return to the stage in the summer of 2024, and when the offer to do this show came in, I optimistically moved forward.
“Unfortunately, my body is telling me that I’m just not ready yet and I am much too proud to have the first show that I do in nearly five years be half-a****.”

Sophia Loren is taking “some time off” for physical rehabilitation following emergency surgery after she suffered a bad fall.
The Oscar winning actress, 89, who was a star of Hollywood’s ‘golden era’ and won the best actress Academy Award for ‘Two Women’ in 1961, sustained serious fractures to her hip and femur and had an operation after she took a tumble on Sunday in the bathroom of her home in Switzerland.
In a statement issued on behalf of the screen siren by her agent Andrea Giusti, she said: “I thank everyone for the closeness and affection that they have been showing me.
“I’m better, I just need to do rehabilitation and take some time off.”
Her sons, Carlo and Edoardo Ponti, are said to be at her bedside as she recovers.
The team at her Sophia Loren Restaurant chain said on Instagram about her fall: “Operated with a positive outcome, she will now have to observe a short period of recovery and follow a road to rehabilitation.
“Thankfully everything worked out for the best and the Lady will be back with us very soon.”
Sophia’s agent Andrea said she had undergone “urgent surgery” on serious fractures.
The actress’ career saw her appear alongside stars including Marlon Brando, Frank Sinatra and Cary Grant.
She famously turned down a marriage proposal from Cary after they appeared in the 1957 film ‘The Pride and the Passion’.
In 1990, Sophia, who was married to film producer Carlo Ponti from 1966 until his death in 2007 aged 94, also won an honorary Oscar for being “one of the genuine treasures of world cinema.”

Nashawn Breedlove has died.
The 46-year-old musician – who was most famous for battle-rapping Eminem in 2002 film ‘8 Mile’, in which he played Lotto – passed away in his sleep on Sunday at his home in New Jersey, a family member told website TMZ.
His loved ones do not yet know the cause of death.
In ‘8 Mile’, Nashawn as Lotto famously rapped “I feel bad I gotta murder that dude from ‘Leave it to Beaver'”, prompting cheers from the crowd but ultimately lost the showdown to Eminem’s B-Rabbit.
Ahead of his big break in the film, Nashawn rapped under the stage name OX and featured on the soundtrack for 2001’s ‘The Wash’ with Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg.
His death was first announced by rapper Mickey Factz.
Mickey posted on Instagram: “RIP to one of the few emcee’s to beat Eminem… Lotto from 8 Mile. Who’s friends lovingly called him, OX. You will be missed for your tenacity and aggressiveness.”
Fellow rapper Daylyt commented: “The first mc who was ever robbed of his win in a rap battle! Rip lotto (sic)”
And another rapper, Datin, recalled: “NOOOOOO! [broken heart emoji] I met Ox when we was Teens. He was in a group called The Now. Illest group of emcees I’ve ever met in my f****** life.
” They SMOKED my group in a showcase competition but they was humble and cool. Ox stood out. Super good dude. I lost touch with him before 8 Mile. I had high hopes for that man. Sad to hear this news. May he RIP.”

Britney Spears danced around with knives in a new Instagram post.
The 41-year-old pop star took to her social media on Tuesday to share an update with her 42 million followers where she donned a low-cut top, white underwear and twirled round with a set of kitchen tools before assuring fans that they weren’t actually real.
She wrote on Instagram: “I started playing in the kitchen with knives toda !!! Don’t worry they are NOT real knives !!! Halloween is soon.”
Britney was seen throwing the knives around her head as part of her dance routine before finishing off her performance by clattering the kitchen tools together.
In a follow-up post, the ‘…Baby One More Time’ hitmaker changed into a white sweater complete with white matching boots and pink underwear where she danced in her living room empty-handed.
The ‘Lucky’ songstress tied the knot with Sam Asghari in June 2022 but he filed for divorce in August and earlier this month, she took to social media to declare her status as she danced around to Madonna hit ‘I’m Addicted’.
In an apparent reference to Selena Gomez’ new single, she captioned the Instagram post: “SINGLE SOON??? Single as f**k!!!”
Britney – who regained control of her multimillion-dollar fortune and various aspects of her life when a conservatorship governed by her family was terminated in November 2021 – also has Jayden, 18, and Sean, 17 with ex-husband Kevin Federline has since deleted the post, but it came just days after she was said to be “relieved” that her child support payments were due to come to an end later this month.
Britney addressed the split with her followers shortly after the news broke, writing: “As everyone knows, Hesam and I are no longer together. Six years is a long time to be with someone so, I’m a little shocked but … I’m not here to explain why because its honestly nobody’s business !!!”

Kevin Costner and Christine Baumgartner are said to be “on speaking terms” following their divorce.
The 68-year-old actor tied the knot with designer Christine, 49, in 2004 and went on to have Cayden Wyatt, 15, Hayes Logan, 14, and Grace Avery, 13, with her but the pair called time on their marriage in May this year, although an insider has now claimed that they are speaking to each other for the sake of their children.
A source told UsWeekly: “They are now on speaking terms. Things are better. They didn’t want it to get ugly for the kids’ sake.”
However, the insider went on to insist that there is no chance of a reconciliation between the ‘Yellowstone’ actor – who also has Annie, 39, Lily, 37, and Joe, 35 with ex-wife Cindy Silva, as well as son Liam, 26, with former partner Bridget Rooney – and Christine but that they just “didn’t want to fight” anymore.
The source added: “Kevin is thrilled that the negotiations are over. At the end of the day, Christine is the mother to his children and he didn’t want to fight anymore.”
The comments come just days after it was revealed that the former couple had now settled their legal battle with reports suggesting their pre-nuptial agreement was enforced and Baumgartner was unable to challenge the terms without facing the possibility of paying a penalty in excess of $1 million and covering the actor’s attorney’s fees.
A source told DailyMail.com: “Christine didn’t really have a choice but to settle because Kevin had all the power. Had she continued fighting, she would risk losing everything.”
The insider added the former handbag designer is glad the ordeal is over, saying: “Christine said it is what it is. That she won’t miss going to court and having sleepless nights … She was the one who wanted to settle things outside of court in the first place. She never wanted any of this circus. It’s been a living nightmare and now she just wants to move on and start fresh and begin making her new house a home.”

Lance Bass says there were lots of “tears of joy” when NSYNC reunited in the studio.
The pop group are back with their first song in 20 years, ‘Better Place’ – which appeared in a trailer for forthcoming DreamWorks Animation film ‘Trolls Band Together’ – and they reunited on stage at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, earlier this month.
Lance has insisted he had “no idea” the band’s fans would “go this nuts” for their comeback.
He told ‘Entertainment Tonight’: “It is beautiful, you know?
“To be this age and the fans are still this excited, it is a dream come true.
“I had no idea the fandom would go this nuts.
“It was pretty emotional, the first time we all got in the studio together.
“Back in March, we decided to, you know, get back together and have some fun and it was like no [time] had passed.
“But there was there was a lot of tears. It was just tears of joy. And it was just a beautiful moment.
“Like, time does so much and for us to finally be together, it just feels right.”
NSYNC – also made up of Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez, Chris Kirkpatrick and Joey Fatone – appeared together at the VMAs on September 12th, 10 years after their final public performance at the awards show, when they took to the stage to present the Best Pop award to Taylor Swift.
Speaking about the reaction to NSYNC’s reunion that night, Lance joked: “I blame Taylor Swift. I think she sicced the Swifties on us and I think the Swifties and the NSYNCers just kind of created this tsunami.
“And I think it’s been so fun!”
Fans have been calling for NSYNC to go on tour following their reunion, but Lance insisted the group “don’t have solid plans” just yet.
He added: “I’ve been telling the fans, like, we don’t have solid plans right now. Because, you know, we’re waiting for the strike to end we’ve got things to do,” Bass said. “But [the fans are] definitely shaping our future.”

Jason Sudeikis and Olivia Wilde have finally settled their bitter custody battle.
The ‘Ted Lasso’ actor, 48, broke up with the 39-year-old ‘Don’t Worry Darling’ director – with whom he has children Otis, nine, and Daisy, six – in November 2020, prompting an epic legal fight over access to the children.
New court filings obtained by the Daily Mail have now shown Jason has agreed to pay his ex $27,500 per month in support for their two kids.
The settlement was based on Jason’s estimated 2023 income of $10.5 million – and Olivia’s income of $500,000 this year.
Court papers stated: “The parties agree that child support for the minor children in the amount of $27,500 per month is sufficient to maintain the needs of the minor children considering Jason’s station in life… is consistent with each child’s best interest, and application of the guideline would be unjust or inappropriate in this case.”
Olivia went on to date former One Direction member Harry Styles, 29, following her split from Jason, but has now split from the singer.
She was infamously served legal papers as part of her battle with the actor while on stage at CinemaCon in April 2022.
At the time, a source told Page Six the actress was mortified, adding: “It seemed unthinkable to her, and it took a moment to set in, but as mortifying as it was, she did not want to give a reaction.”
But the pair have since put on a united front, and were recently spotted cheering on their son Otis at his soccer game, with the exes even hugging and high-fiving.
The former couple started dating in November 2011 and got engaged in January 2013.
Jason has said he doesn’t think his split with Olivia as the end of their relationship, telling The Observer newspaper: “I don’t think it’s the ending of something, as much as now we’ve added three or four charms to the bracelet of our lives.”
Jason added he would always maintain as optimistic an outlook as his US college football coach character in ‘Ted Lasso’ – until he was faced with certain death.
He said: “Until I’m faced with being on a plane that’s supposed to go down, or some biopsy brings back some bad news or some other major shift happens in my life or someone near and dear to me’s life, I have no reason not to be as optimistic as the character I’ve been lucky enough to portray for the last three years… I have no complaints. Leave that to the experts.”

Shakira has been charged with tax evasion for a second time.
The ‘Hips Don’t Lie’ hitmaker has been accused by prosecutors in Spain of having defrauded the state of state of €6.7 million in 2018 after she allegedly failed to declare millions in advance payments for her ‘El Dorado’ world tour, amongst other payments.
The charges are due to the fact Shakira was living with then-partner Gerard Pique and their two sons in Barcelona in 2018 and therefore was required to tax her international revenue there, but she is accused of having instead divert her money to “companies domiciled in countries with low taxation and high opacity”.
The investigation was opened in July 2023 but the details have only just been released.
The news comes ahead of Shakira going on trial over six separate alleged tax crimes in the Spanish city this November, having been accused of failing to pay €14.5 million in tax between 2012 and 2014.
She has denied the charges against her.
A representative for Shakira said in a statement when the case first made headlines: “Shakira has always cooperated and abided by the law, demonstrating impeccable conduct as an individual and a taxpayer, and faithfully following the counsel of PriceWaterhouse Coopers, a prestigious and globally recognized tax firm.
“Unfortunately, the Spanish Tax Office, which loses one out of every two lawsuits with its taxpayers, continues to violate her rights and pursue yet another baseless case.
“Shakira is confident that her innocence will be proven by the end of the judicial process.”
Earlier this month, the 46-year-old pop star expressed her belief she would be exonerated.
She told Spain’s Elle magazine: “I am confident that I have enough proof to support my case and that justice will prevail in my favour.”

Martin Scorsese has called for Christopher Nolan and other directors to “save cinema” from a comic book and franchise culture.
The 80-year-old filmmaker – who has made the likes of ‘Taxi Driver’, ‘Raging Bull’, ‘Goodfellas’, and ‘The Departed’ – has previously claimed Marvel movies “aren’t cinema”, and he has now claimed superhero movies are a “danger” to our “culture.”
In a profile with GQ magazine, he said: “The danger there is what it’s doing to our culture.
“Because there are going to be generations now that think movies are only those – that’s what movies are.
“They [audiences] already think that. Which means that we have to then fight back stronger.
“And it’s got to come from the grassroots level.
“It’s gotta come from the filmmakers themselves. And you’ll have, you know, the Safdie brothers, and you’ll have Chris Nolan, you know what I mean? And hit ’em from all sides. Hit ’em from all sides, and don’t give up.
“Let’s see what you got. Go out there and do it. Go reinvent. Don’t complain about it. But it’s true, because we’ve got to save cinema.”
Scorsese insisted “manufactured content isn’t really cinema” and compared such movies to what an Artificial intelligence (AI)-made film might look like.
When it is suggested cinema could be “anything,” he replied: “I do think that the manufactured content isn’t really cinema.
“I don’t want to say it. But what I mean is that, it’s manufactured content.
“It’s almost like AI making a film. And that doesn’t mean that you don’t have incredible directors and special effects people doing beautiful artwork.
“But what does it mean? What do these films, what will it give you? Aside from a kind of consummation of something and then eliminating it from your mind, your whole body, you know? So what is it giving you?”
As well as Scorsese, fellow legendary filmmaker Quentin Tarantino has also criticised Marvel movies.
Chris Hemsworth – who has played Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe – recently admitted it is “super depressing” to hear such criticism from his “heroes.”
He told the same publication: “That’s super depressing when I hear that.
“There goes two of my heroes I won’t work with. I guess they’re not a fan of me.”

Britney Spears’ team reportedly fear she “isn’t ready” for in-depth interviews to promote her upcoming memoir in the wake of her divorce from Sam Asghari.
The ‘Toxic’ singer, 41, was left reeling when the personal trainer-turned actor, 29, filed for divorce from her in August after only 14 months of marriage, and she is set to release her tell-all memoir ‘The Woman in Me’ on 24 October.
One source told Page Six the Grammy winner will not be hitting the media circuit to promote her much-anticipated autobiography as her team apparently doesn’t feel she is ready to do sit-down interviews.
But another insider told the outlet it was Britney’s choice whether she wanted to do any press.
They added: “She’s a free woman. She’ll decide.”
But they also claimed: “She’s had offers and she doesn’t want to do anything.”
Britney told fans when announcing she was bringing out her book she had a “lot of therapy” and “worked my a** off” to make it happen.
Since Sam’s shock divorce filing there have been conflicting reports on whether the ‘Toxic’ singer will feature their split in the memoir.
In August, some sources denied rumours there had been “emergency meetings” and “issues holding up publication” due to Britney and Sam’s marriage breakdown.
TMZ reported: “There won’t be any changes made to the memoir to reflect Britney’s divorce… we’re told the book will be released as is.”
The outlet added presales for the book have also soared since it emerged Sam filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences.
Its claims came after an insider told the Daily Mirror Britney was “frantically” rewriting her memoir to include her divorce battle.
An insider said about how she was apparently set to cram in an account of the break-up in the book: “To have such a major moment in her life omitted from the book would be senseless.
“Her fans want to know what was behind the split. Britney is keen to ensure she takes control of the narrative, and there is no better way than to say what happened in her own words in her book.”
Publishers Simon and Schuster are said by the Daily Star to have started “busily trying to arrange for her to cover the split before the book goes to press”.
Another report on Britney’s memoir said Sam will only be featured “fleetingly.”
MailOnline said an insider claimed even though he will feature in a hastily rewritten version, it will not be “a lot”.
A source told the outlet: “Sam features in the autobiography but not a lot. You’ll see on October 24 when it comes out.”
