The appearance of Netflix and other streaming platforms has completely changed the way of consuming series and movies and there are many products that streaming services have managed to “resurrect” despite the fact that they were somewhat forgotten in everyone’s memory.
This happened again in the last days with the movie Lonely killer (War), a 2007 action film starring Jason Statham and Jet Li, which did not have a great impact at the time of its premiere.
“In this action intrigue in which all the clues point to a famous murderer, FBI agent Jack Crawford decides to take revenge for the death of his partner”, indicates the synopsis of the film that now triumphs in Netflix.
The film tells the story of FBI agent Jack Crawford (Jason Statham), who vows to hunt down the professional assassin who killed his partner, the fearsome Rogue (Jet Li). However, Rogue will prove to be very good at the art of disappearing without a trace, only to reappear three years later, lighting the fuse of a bloody war between the leader of the Chinese mafias, Chang (John Lone), and the head of the yakuza, Shiro (Ryo Ishibashi).
Lonely killer was directed by Philip G. Atwell and stars Jet Li, Jason Statham, John Lone, Devon Aoki, Luis Guzmán, Saul Rubinek, Sung Kang, Mathew St. Patrick and Nadine Velazquez, among others. It has a duration of 103 minutes.
The action movie received mixed reviews from critics upon its release. Most stressed that it is a very entertaining film, but that it does not add anything new to the genre. Jet Li himself was dissatisfied with the film’s production and criticized the director in multiple interviews.
Lonely killer has had its long-awaited revenge and currently ranks as the sixth most watched film of Netflix worldwide, but in several Latin American countries it has been on the podium of the most chosen films by subscribers of the streaming service in recent days.
