As theories regarding the name of Daniel Craig’s successor and next James Bond continue to swell. The producers have just released new information regarding their criteria, officially sweeping away 2 hypotheses previously established on the networks.

The eternal teaser of the producers

Two weeks ago, Barbara Broccoli and Michael Gregg Wilson had, for example, nebulously refreshed the file at Variety by announcing that, since it was a reinvention, the choice of Daniel Craig’s successor was going to take more time. Especially since the next actor will play the role for no less than 10 or 15 years.

The treasure hunt is restricted

In the midst of this, many then imagined that this total reinvention of the double agent would mean for producers to narrate the beginnings of the character, from the beginning to his first missions within MI6. The idea of ​​a relatively young actor then naturally imposed itself.

However, this idea has just been refutedsince the producer Michael G. Wilson has just denied what seems to be only a rumor during a conference held at London’s British Film Institute:

We’ve tried to look at younger actors in the past, but when you try to visualize them in the role, it doesn’t work. Remember, Bond is a veteran, he already has experience. He’s not a kid out of high school. That’s why it works for a 30-something.”

Thus, we understand through these words that the next 007 will not be “young”, be less than 30. This conflicts with the idea of ​​a total reinvention of the character. And these terms sweep away the idea of ​​a James Bond feminine version.

According to the information and rumors from the corridors that have reached us so far, a short list gradually took shape, around 4/5 actors as credible candidates. Let us quote – in mind – Henry Cavill, but also Idris Elba, Regé-Jean Page or even Tom Hardy and Chiwetel Ejiofor. But still nothing concrete so far.
