Fifteen years after a fourth film not very well received by fans, Indiana Jones has made a comeback on the big screen for ultimate misadventures! Harrison Ford obviously returned to play the character one last time. At his side, we were able to find a nice line-up of actors, including Mads Mikkelsen who slipped into the skin of the big bad in history.
In “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny”, Mads Mikkelsen plays Jürgen Voller, a former Nazi who harbors dark designs and wants to use a mysterious artifact to achieve it. The film tells how Indiana Jones will do everything to prevent him from getting his hands on it!
This last film in the saga therefore opposes Harrison Ford and Mads Mikkelsen in an intense chase around the world. In a video interview with GQ (reported by Comicbook), Mads Mikkelsen shared what it was like to work with a legend like Harrison Ford.
“A fantastic collaborator”
During his exchange with GQ, Mads Mikkelsen portrays Harrison Ford as a fantastic collaborator, but above all very funny. He indeed told a little joke that his co-star during the first days of filming: Harrison Ford had fun shouting “there is a Nazi! when he arrived on set and the new teams really believed him! Mads Mikkelsen also described Harrison Ford’s abilities to put people at ease while filming a difficult scene. The cinema veteran always found how to make it work!
“I think I remember very well working with these fantastic people, and working with Harrison [Ford], of course, is the best thing. I mean, normally he would just see me wherever I was at random and he’d yell, ‘There’s a Nazi!’ […] There would be like a whole new team that didn’t know the history, and everyone thought I was a Nazi. So that was his way of warming up and I liked that. He’s a teenager in his energy and everything about him. He’s a legend on so many levels, isn’t he? For his talent and what he has done. But he’s mostly, in my world, a legend because he doesn’t behave like a legend. He brings everything down to earth and makes everyone around him feel comfortable so that we can make and create a scene that works. »
Like what, it’s really great to work with Harrison Ford! With these remarks, Mads Mikkelsen proves how much the veteran of the cinema was really thoroughly in his role. “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny” received mixed reviews, but remains a nice farewell for Indy!
