Harry Potter: this touching declaration of love from Emma Watson to Tom Felton

Emma Watson grew up in the public eye. In effect, the actress was just 10 years old when she became a superstarthanks to her role as Hermione Granger in the saga Harry Potter. She performed the very intelligent and astute friend of the famous wizard between 2001 and 2011. In the movies, Hermione gets along very well with Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe) and Ron Weasley (Rupert Grint), the latter’s best friend (who becomes her husband at the end of the saga). On the other hand, Draco Malfoy (Tom Felton) does not carry it at all in his heart.

However, it should be noted that this enmity does not exist between the two actors. In effect, Emma Watson and Tom Felton have a good relationship for several years. The actor, who published his autobiography in October 2022, however revealed that he had made fun of his collaborator when he was younger. He confessed to apologizing to her. And it seems that Hermione’s interpreter accepted them. Relations are therefore in good shape between the two artists. So much so that Emma did not hesitate to take up her pen to write the preface to her friend’s book.

She took the opportunity to make a nice statement and to make things clear about their relationship. “Do you see that person in your life who always listens to you and understands you? Who is by your side for the big and small moments? The one who knows, who really knows, what is happening to you, what you are going through, without you having to say a single word? For me, that person is Tom Felton.” she wrote at first. Emma Watson then called back how their relationship really started : “Our relationship didn’t get off to a good start. When we first met, I was a dreamy, annoying nine-year-old girl who followed him around like a poodle looking for attention.”.

Then specifying that Tom Felton had his heart on his sleeve and was generousshe added: “Like Tom, I struggle a lot when I have to explain to people the nature of our relationship. For more than twenty years now, we loved each other in our own way. I lost count of the number of times someone said to us: ‘You must have kissed (…)’, ‘There is something behind all that!’. But it’s much deeper than that. It’s one of the purest loves I can conceive. We are kindred spirits and we will always protect each other (…) That’s friendship. To be understood and loved in this way is one of life’s greatest gifts.”. So it’s just a story of friendship (strong!) between her and the interpreter of Draco Malfoy. No offense to the fans who would have liked that a romance was born between them. Tom Felton’s autobiography, Beyond Magic, Confession of a Sorcerer (editions Leduc), will be available in France from April 12, 2023.
