Shortly after this announcement, the Los Angeles Times reveals that many collaborators of Bruce Willis have been concerned about his health for several years. Some have noticed the diminishing cognitive abilities of the star, whose lines of dialogue become fewer and fewer from film to film. On the set ofOpen Source, the actor fires a loaded gun without giving the signal and the incident is repeated in the next take. Fortunately, no one is injured.

“He seemed a little behind”

During the filming of Glass in 2017, several team members are already seeing that the actor struggles to retain his dialogues. A source testifies to Page Six :

Bruce seemed a bit confused at times and needed a little more help with his lines. (…) At that time, he seemed a little withdrawn. We thought it might be due to aging or being a bit drunk, or not wanting to be there – common mistakes people make when they see the first signs of dementia. Come to think of it, Bruce may have already been battling the disease at the time.
