Game of Thrones: Survivor, Emilia Clarke confides in the times she almost died

The star of Game Of Thrones Emilia Clarke is a true survivor. During an interview with the BBC English, she confides in two tragic episodes that occurred when she was younger, which almost cost him his life.

A battered actress

Revealed in the HBO series Game Of Thrones airing from April 2011 to May 2019, Emilia Clarke has since been seen in Solo: A Star Wars Story. The actress returned to a very painful episode during an interview with the BBC: his two ruptured aneurysms who turned his life and career upside down. Two traumas that occurred in 2011 and 2013, when she was only 23 (then 25), and then fully in her role as Daenerys Targaryen. “It was the most excruciating pain… It was incredibly helpful to have Game of Thrones in my life at that time to keep me afloat and give me purpose“, she confides.

As a reminder, a ruptured aneurysm appears when the wall of an intracranial artery expands abnormally, creating a pocket of blood. This dilation weakens the wall of the artery which can then crack or even break, causing hemorrhage, and thus the rupture of the aneurysm.

Strokes, basically: as soon as part of your brain doesn’t get blood for a second, it’s over! So the blood finds a different way to move, but the little that’s missing is dead forever.” she continues.

“It’s remarkable that I can still speak articulately”

Thus, the British actress admits thata certain amount of his brain is no longer usable. She thus says (ironically) having lost a “good part of the organ“and that he”missing a lot of things in there“. Two tragic episodes which very nearly cost the life of the actress: “It’s remarkable that I can still speak articulately, and live my life completely normally, without any repercussions. I am one of the very, very, very small minority of people who can survive this.“

Emilia Clarke suffered from aphasia, a communication disorder that can manifest itself in oral or written expression and comprehension: “My full name is Emilia Isobel Euphemia Rose Clarke. But I couldn’t remember. Instead, meaningless words came out of my mouth.”.

Today, the actress says she can live almost normally and without repercussions. She’s even since started a charity for brain injury victims. called SameYou. Three years ago, she shared photos of herself at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery in London where she stayed during her operation.
