Football: Dortmund raises its head, Schalke takes a lot

Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig, two potential title contenders behind Bayern Munich, won against Hertha Berlin (1-0) and Wolsfburg (2-0) respectively thanks to a brace from Christopher Nkunku Saturday during the 4th day of the Bundesliga.

Union Berlin, a clear winner on the lawn of Schalke 04 (6-1), temporarily takes the lead in the championship before the match between Bayern and Borussia Mönchengladbach (6:30 p.m.).

Dortmund thus raises its head after its improbable 3-2 defeat against Werder Bremen a week earlier.

And this thanks to the first goal of Anthony Modeste in the colors of the BVB. The latter opened the scoring in the 32nd minute with a superb header.

The Danish goalkeeper kept Hertha alive for a long time in the first period, while attempts by Marco Reus (15th), Raphaël Guerreiro (18th) or Salih Ozcan (19th) did not find the frame.

This success, Borussia’s third in four matches, allows BVB to return to a provisional level on points with Bayern.

Leipzig is also blowing after winning its first victory of the season at home against Wolfsburg (2-0).

Domenico Tedesco’s players built their success at the very start of the game thanks to a penalty converted by Christopher Nkunku (5th), before the French international doubled the lead at the end of the game (90th), scoring his 3rd and 4th goals of the season.
