Fast & Furious: the new film with Dwayne Johnson reveals its plot and its title

After proclaiming loud and clear his break with the saga Fast & FuriousDwayne Johnson will eventually return in an all-new spin-off.

Started in 2001 with the film Fast & Furious directed by Rob Cohen, the saga quickly became one of the most important, and lucrative, of the American cinematographic landscape. Dwayne Johnson, who landed in Fast & Furious 5 to embody the character of Luke Hobbs, was given his own spin-off in 2019, Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw, alongside Jason Statham. While everyone thought this appearance would be his last in the franchise, he finally returned to Fast & Furious 10 for a cameo, and this return is far from trivial since Dwayne Johnson will therefore be the poster of a brand new spin-off which will serve as a transition between FastX and its sequel.

According Production Weeklythe spin-off will be called Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Reyes. Like the first derivative film, centered on Luke Hobbs and Deckard Shawce, this new film should therefore tell the story of a new duo, consisting of Luke Hobbs and Dante Reyes. That means Jason Momoa, who plays Dante Reyes’ new character in FastXwill also be back in the spin-off.

The new best character in the saga?

In addition to exploring the relationship between the two characters, the film may also take a trip down memory lane to reveal the story of revenge-driven Dante Reyes in more detail. As a reminder, his father, Hernan Reyes, was killed by Hobbs in the fifth installment of the saga. The man has since cultivated his hatred of Dominic Toretto and his “family”. Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Reyes should serve as an appetizer before the big clash of Fast & Furious 11.

No director has been announced, but the film is known to be written by Chris Morgan, screenwriter for the majority of the films. Fast & Furious and of Fast and Furious: Hobbs and Shaw. No release date has been revealed..
