Eva Mendes shares sad family news.

The actress cried during her appearance on Friday’s “Today” after co-host Hoda Kotb wished Mendes’ mother, Eva Perez Suarez, a Happy Mother’s Day.

“She’s not doing too well right now, so that means a lot to me,” Mendes, 48, said.

“She’s a survivor in every way. Thank you.”

The ‘Hitch’ star didn’t elaborate on her mother’s well-being. Page Six has reached out to their rep for comment.

Mendes – who shares two children, Esmeralda, 7, and Amada, 6, with longtime partner Ryan Gosling – also spoke to Kotb about how his upbringing influenced his parenting skills.

“I really took it back to when I was little,” she shared. “My mum was able to be there for me at home until I was about 8 or 9 years old. And those memories for me, that just formed who I was, those years with her.”

In recent years, Mendes has expressed his decision to take a break to focus on raising himself and the children of Gosling.

She previously admitted that having children of her own has given her a whole new appreciation for what her own mother went through to raise her and her three siblings.

“I can’t believe that by the time my mum was 24, she had three children under the age of 4. She was in Cuba and totally alone,” Mendes said in a 2014 op-ed for beauty site Violet Gray.

“So when it’s the wee hours of the night and I’m feeling a little crazy, I think of her and realize that I have no right to complain about anything.”

Mendes has also confessed in the past that before she fell in love with Gosling, 41, in her late thirties, she had no desire to have children. She told Women’s Health in April 2019 that having children was the “furthest thing” from her mind.

“Ryan’s mother, my mother, Ryan and my sisters. It’s a village that has helped us,” Mendes said of her own experience of motherhood.

“My heart goes out to the women who do this alone. I basically come from a single-parent family; although I love my dad, my mom mostly raised four of us on her own.
