After finishing a grueling season doing Cabaret at the Playhouse Theater in London, actor Eddie Redmayne, winner of the Oscar in 2014 for the theory of everything, has preferred to rest at home in the English capital. He confesses that he does not have any projects underway for next year, something unusual for a great movie star. We can see him in the movie The Good Nurse which premieres this fall on Netflix. It is a story based on real events that stars alongside Jessica Chastain and that tells the case of nurse Charles Cullen, who is suspected of killing 300 patients over 16 years.
The actor, who turned 40 last January, acknowledges that winning an Oscar changed his career. “Suddenly they stop directing you. They tell you: ‘You do what you did in The Theory of Everything’.” He says that one of the great pleasures of shooting The Good Nurse it was being directed “by a strong hand”, like that of director Tobias Lindholm. The other, sharing the screen with Jessica Chastain, which inspired confidence and helped him overcome her insecurities during filming.
Two others who complement each other wonderfully are the Casas brothers. Mario makes his directorial debut with my loneliness has wingsa film inspired by the quinqui cinema and starring Óscar, his younger brother, who little by little follows in his brother’s footsteps in his acting career.
