“Drunk”, the new dramatic film from Danish director Thomas Vinterberg, returns to theaters on May 19, 2021. In “Drunk” with Mads Mikkelsen, there is a lot about alcohol.
Danish director Thomas Vinterberg comes back to cinema with an eleventh feature film. His drama “Drunk“is back in theaters on May 19, 2021.
In his new movie, “Drunk“, the director to whom it also owes”Kursk“(2018),”The community“(2017) or”The hunt“(2012), chose to evoke thealcohol, its addiction, its consequences.
Thomas Vinterberg stages, in “Drunk“, Mads Mikkelsen (“Doctor Strange“,”Rogue One: A Star Wars Story“…) which he had directed in”The hunt“.
But also other actors and actresses with whom the director had already worked: Lars ranthe (“The community“), Susse Wold (“The hunt“), Helene Reingaard Neumann (“The community“) and Magnus willang (“Kursk“and”The community“). Thomas Bo Larsen (“Park“) and Maria Bonnevie (“Beauty of the Lord“) complete the cast.
“Drunk“is part of the Cannes 2020 Official Selection. He won the Art house cinema awards 2020. The film also received theOscar and the Caesar of Best Foreign Film.
Four friends decide to put into practice the theory of a Norwegian psychologist according to which the man has from birth a deficit of alcohol in the blood. With scientific rigor, each takes up the challenge, all hoping that their life will be even better! If at first the results are encouraging, the situation quickly gets out of control.
