Driving license hassles

As you probably know, the driving license offers many opportunities, especially professional ones. Eh yes !

In many sectors of activity, it is even a recruitment criteria. It is therefore better to pass it before embarking on active life.

This can also be done before you turn 18, under certain conditions. You must have obtained the Highway Code and driven 3,000 kilometers in supervised driving.

However, Passing the driving license has a cost. Furthermore, the waiting times before obtaining a date of passage continue to lengthen.

If you want to take the exam but live in a big city, you might want to consider trying it somewhere else.

Driving in Paris, Marseille or Lyon is much more complicated than in a village. In these firsts, “the waiting time is currently four months on average”, then specifies Bruno Garancher, president of the ECF, at the microphones of 20 minutes.

More and more candidates are thus moving away from their city of residence to take the dreaded driver’s license exam.

Some driving schools also offer all-inclusive packages with transportation, accommodation, driving hours and passing the exam »as reported by our colleagues.

They thus explain that “some platforms have partnered with driving schools in cities where it’s easier to get a slot for the exam.” MCE TV tells you more!

Try the experience in a small town

Passing the driving license in a small town is a great solution. Nevertheless, demand is exploding and places are scarce.

“This summer, I had 20 requests from city dwellers who wanted to take a few hours of driving and have an exam date”, advances Sandra Carasco, president of Unic, in the columns of 20 minutes.

” But I could only take fourbecause I already had a lot of students registered and a little less trainers, some having gone on vacation”, she then explains.

For Bruno Garancher, “examination slots are not necessarily much more numerous in the provinces than in the big cities. A candidate must inquire two and a half months before coming on vacation and get a firm exam date. »

The president of the ECF comes to break another myth. “Students who come from big cities often think that it will be easier to get the permit in a smaller one, because there is less traffic. »

“But that’s not necessarily true, because examiners are often more demanding”, he assures. Note that in 2021, the success rate “was 74.8% in Vendée, against 46.2% in Val-de-Marne”. Yes, you read it correctly!
