Moon Knight is one of the next big Marvel Studios series on Disney +. Today, the studio confirms that the title role will be played by Oscar Isaac. This is not really a surprise, since the info was leaked several months ago.
Marvel Studios has huge plans for Disney +. One of them is dedicated to one of the heroes most beloved by fans, namely Moon Knight. Today, the studio confirms that the lead role will be played by Oscar Isaac.
It is not a surprise, far from it. Indeed, Variety had already sold the wick in October 2020, but neither Marvel nor Disney had confirmed. It’s done today with a tweet where we see the Guatemalan actor in front of comics. No need to beat around the bush: Oscar Isaac is Moon Knight. The Star Wars, Dune, Ex Machina, or A Most Violent Year actor is a great choice and will make his MCU debut with this role.
Moon Knight, one series among many
Created in 1975, Moon Knight is strongly inspired by Batman, which then had no equivalent at Marvel. Under the mask hides Marc Spector, a former mercenary who was saved by the Egyptian moon god, Khonshu, when he was on the verge of death. A dark hero who will bring something new to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Note that we also know that Ethan Hawke will play the villain and that the series will be written by Jeremy Slater, creator of Umbrella Academy for Netflix.

In any case, the series has not yet started filming, but things should not delay any longer. At the moment, Moon Knight doesn’t have a release date, but at the rate it is going, it won’t have to be waited until at least 2022.
Waiting, beautiful Marvel projects will arrive on the platform. The next series will be Loki, which will pick up the character’s story from where it left off in Endgame. At the end of the year, an Ms Marvel series will also be broadcast. The Hawkeye series, currently in production, should also precede Moon Knight. A little patience, then. We can also console ourselves with the multitude of Star Wars series planned.
