Daily Mail: John Travolta tried to bring the soul of his son Jett back to his body after a seizure

John Travolta is said to have used a Scientology technique, in the hope that it would rejoin the spirit of his son, Jett, with his body which died from a seizure. Its links with religion are said to have weakened.

“Pulp Fiction” star John Travolta and late actress Kelly Preston have had a beautiful relationship for nearly three decades. Still, things haven’t always been easy, especially with their eldest son, Jett, who has had to deal with health issues his entire life.

The lives of Travolta and Preston notably changed forever when Jett passed away. The actor was so devastated that he allegedly tried to bring his son back to life with a Scientology technique.

Jett was born in 1992, just one year after Travolta, who has been a member of the Church of Scientology since 1975, married Preston. Unfortunately, the boy suffered from epileptic seizures persistent all his life.

Travolta and Preston never admitted that Jett had autism. With Scientologists not acknowledging the illness, the couple claimed Jett suffered from Kawasaki caused by regular exposure to carpet cleaner.

Tragedy struck their lives in January 2009. While on a family vacation in the Bahamas, Jett had a severe seizure that caused him to fall in the bathroom and hit his head, resulting in resulted in his death. He was only 16 years old.

After describing Jett’s death as the worst experience of his life, Travolta said he was not sure he could take the pain. Over the years he has been outspoken about his grieving process and has, on several occasions, attributed to his church the merit of having helped him.

He confessed that the Church of Scientology never left his bedside and that of Preston for two full years. Without their support, he probably wouldn’t have made it.

As if the death of a child weren’t hard enough to deal with, Travolta also fell victim to a plan to blackmail of a millionaire. The actor confessed that the paramedic who helped Jett blackmailed him about a compensation form Travolta signed.

According to the driver and his legal team, Travolta was worried about the circumstances surrounding Jett’s death and wanted to take him to a medical center in Florida (where the Church of Scientology HQ is located).

Travolta reportedly did what Domingo described as “Bring Back to Life” assistance.

The driver then asked Travolta to sign a compensation form, which the actor allegedly did, but quickly changed his mind and agreed to take Jett to a hospital 15 minutes away.

The driver nevertheless allegedly demanded money from Travolta in exchange for the form. After a short legal battle, Travolta dropped the case because he did not want to return to the Bahamas. His family also wanted to turn the page.

In July 2019, Jett’s passing made headlines again after Samantha Domingo, daughter-in-law of Placido Domingo and a former Scientologist, shared some details on the matter.

According to Domingo, a VIP member of the Church for 22 years, Travolta jumped into the ambulance carrying Jett’s body to the hospital and tried to bring him back to life.

In Scientology, the mind is known as the “thetan”. Followers of this religion believe that the Thetan spirit does not take a body until birth, so a stillborn is considered “just an empty shell, nothing to fear”. Domingo add :

“It’s the same with death. For [les scientologues], once your body is no longer of use, your Thetan may simply go and find a new body and continue where you left off. “

In a desperate attempt to bring Jett back to life, Travolta reportedly did what Domingo described as a “Bring Back to Life” assistance, meaning he ordered Jett’s Thetan to return to his body. Unfortunately, his attempt was unsuccessful.

As Preston and Travolta’s youngest son, Ben, was born almost two years after Jett died, Domingo claimed the family believed Jett’s Thetan was in Ben.

By choosing to undergo regular cancer treatment, Preston and Travolta challenged the Church.

In addition, Domingo admitted to seeing how Scientology officials constantly “brainwashed” Preston at the Church’s world headquarters in Clearwater, Florida after Jett’s death. However, Travolta’s representative ultimately said Domingo’s claims were “false and ridiculous”.

Sadly, Jett’s passing is not the only hardship Travolta has faced in life. On July 12, 2020, Preston died just two years after being diagnosed with breast cancer. She was only 57 years old.

Soon after his death, Travolta thanked and praised Preston’s doctors and nurses at the MD Anderson Cancer Center and other medical centers who tried to help him.

His illness has shown the world an unpublicized aspect of Scientology. But obviously Preston and Travolta defied the Church by choosing chemotherapy and radiation to treat cancer. Yet founder L. Ron Hubbard was against it.

In his November 1959 lecture, Hubbard stated that cancer needed a “second dynamic or upheaval” – like the loss of a child – to appear. So other Scientologists told Preston that she got cancer from Jett’s death.

Jeffrey Augustine, another former Scientologist, said Travolta’s statement fully supporting the medical staff suggested that he and his family had “stepped back” from religion. Augustine added :

“There is no acknowledgment in that statement from Scientology, David Miscavige, or the audit, there is nothing – it is essential, he took care of it himself.”

After Preston’s death, Domingo said the actor could either get spiritual advice to “talk” to Preston or realize his Church no longer made him happy and couldn’t help save Preston’s life.

In August 2021, Travolta himself added water to the rumors of his departure from Scientology in selling his Florida mansion – located one mile from Church headquarters in Clearwater – for $ 4 million.

So far, he has not publicly admitted leaving the Church. Despite the difficulties, Travolta is still active in the entertainment industry. Besides his appearance in “Die Hart”, he is expected to work in “Paradise City” alongside Bruce Willis. Well done !
