The Legacy of Wesley Snipes as Lame clearly won’t be forgotten in the upcoming Marvel Studios reboot, with Mahershala Ali, set to star as the Vampire Hunter in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, stating that he will do his best to earn the honor of taking over. . Clearly feeling somewhat of the pressure, the Moonlight and Alita: the angel of battle The star is nonetheless very excited to make an impression.
“You know what I’m looking forward to is winning it. I can’t wait to win… you know, there’s an anticipation for it, there’s an excitement for it that he has, that Mr. Snipes has. And so by filling her shoes, I’m just working to earn my place in this business and I’m excited to start and get the job done. ”
Snipe’s performance as a Daywalker is so beloved (don’t mention Blade Trinity), which many fans were hoping Marvel would bring back the actor for more when the character was introduced into the MCU fray. Of course, that turned out not to be the case, with Oscar winner Mahershala Ali in the role. Rather than being disappointed, Snipes has since endorsed Ali as Lame, taking to social media to say, “Good luck to Mahershala Ali who’s going to break him I’m sure, but he’s going to have a hard time surpassing Wesley Snipes,” before ending his post with “He’ll do very well. . ”
Details surrounding Marvel’s reboot Lame appear slowly, with an apparent synopsis seemingly confirming that the MCU’s take on the antihero will stay fairly close to many of the elements that made Snipes’ tenure successful. “Himself half-human / half-vampire, ‘Daywalker’ Eric Brooks (Ali) has perfected his abilities to hunt down the living dead who have long terrorized humanity,” reads the supposed leak. “A human-vampire hybrid since her tragic birth, Blade has spent a long life seeking to rid the world of vampires like the one who killed his mother. Over the years he has mastered his own style of fighting monsters of all kinds.
While Snipes has no worries about Ali’s casting, the actor recently offered his two cents on what he says will have audiences cheering. “My question is not for him, it’s the people around him,” Snipes explained. “It takes something big and very special to make an iconic film. And you don’t even know if it’s going to be iconic until it’s done. The people decide it. . . I want the same reaction we had with the versions we made. The spectators of the theater were shouting and applauding. I’m looking for that.
The Marvel version of Blade has now made its MCU debut thanks to the post-credits scenes of the MCU’s recent release, Eternals, with the offscreen voice of Ali guiding Kit Harington’s Dane Whitman to find out if he’s really ready to wield the coveted Ebony Blade. Da 5 sangs Star Delroy Lindo was recently confirmed to star alongside Ali, with Watchmen writer Stacy Osei-Kuffour tapped to write the script and Moghol Mowgli Director Bassam Tariq on board to lead the project.
