James Cameron has always liked to take his time to push the visual limits of cinema. Indeed, we could see it in 1991 with terminator : The last judgement and in 1997 with titanic. In 2009, he made his comeback with Avatara science fiction film marked by his two obsessions: the power of special effects and his love for nature. Thus, his film does not revolutionize anything in terms of scenario (a civilized being who falls in love with the natives, to the point of taking their side). But it is especially on the technical level that the director hits the mark.
The blue universe of the film’s planet is a nugget for the viewer’s eyes. Whether its fauna and flora, the animals that inhabit it and the people Na’Vi which is presented, pandora is THE big movie starmore than the story, the characters or the actors who interpret them.
With 2.78 billion dollars in revenue, its sequel is therefore expected… Above all that it has been repeatedly postponed, whether by the director, the production or the Covid-19 crisis. For this second part ofAvatarJames Cameron forsakes the jungle a little to take his favorite place as his terrain: the sea and the seabed. Thereby, Avatar: The Way of the Water takes place ten years after the events of the film released in 2009. We follow Jake and Neytiri who have become parents. However, their existence is again threatened by the dangerous NGO Resources Development Administration, which returns to Pandora. Jake and his family are therefore forced to flee and take refuge on the reefs. But, on the spot, they meet a clan Na’vi more different than theirs.
Kate Winslet pulls out the weapons
In view of the delirious reactions of the public following the launch of its trailer (150 million views in 24 hours on Youtube), Avatar: the way of the water is therefore one of the films to see at the end of the year. We are promised that the Na’vi will be as fierce as feared. In this special issue, the British actress also describes this warrior as formidable and ready to do anything to protect her home. We can’t wait to discover it on the big screen, its confrontation with Neytiri (equally dangerous woman what) promising to be explosive.
