the german film No news at the front has become this thursday for the foreign language film with the most BAFTA Film Award nominations in the history of the British Academy and topped the list of nominations with 14.
The film, an adaptation of the 1929 novel about World War I, opt for 14 awards -which will be unveiled at a ceremony on February 19-, including Best Director, Best Supporting Actor, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Foreign Language Film and Best Film.
The German film is followed in number of nominations for the 2023 BAFTA edition black comedy Banshees by Inisherin and the sci-fi comedy Everything at once everywhere with ten nominations eachfollowed by Elviswhich competes in 9 categories, and tarwith 5.
The nominated Hispanics
The Spanish-Cuban actress Ana de Armas, the movie Argentina, 1985directed by the Argentinian Santiago Mitre, and the pinocchio of the mexican Guillermo DelToro They have been included among the nominees for the 2023 BAFTA Awards in the categories of Best Actress, Best Foreign Language Film and Best Animated Film.
De Armas, nominated for her starring role as Marilyn Monroe in blonde, will compete in that category along with Cate Blanchett (tar), Viola Davis (The Woman King), Danielle Deadwyler (till), Emma Thompson (Good luck to you, Big Leo) and Michelle Williams (The Fabelmans).
In the category for best foreign film, “Argentina, 1985”, starring Ricardo Darín and Peter Lanzani, will aspire to the award along with “All Quiet on the Western Front”, “Corsage”, “Decision to Leave” and “The Quiet Girl”. “, while “Pinocchio will face “Marcel the shell with shoes on”, “Puss in boots: The last wish”, and “Turning red”.
