When Marilyn Monroe starred in the movie Temptation lives above (1955) she was only 29 years old. At that age and dressed in a flowing white dress by William Travilla, she recorded what would be one of the most memorable scenes (and also the most controversial) in the history of cinema, the one in which se held the skirt of the design against the wind of the subway in New York and which was filmed in front of, no less, a large crowd of curious men who came to see the actress in front of the eyes of an angry and jealous Joe DiMaggio who, later, was responsible for one of the most traumatic events in the life of the actress.
Those minutes of the film, in which Marilyn held her outfit, became so famous that they made her dress an auction claim. It was sold for no less than 5,520,000 million dollars.

Now that one of the latest films narrating his life has just been released, Blonde, Ana de Armas wanted to honor with her look to the hollywood icon on the red carpet of the Venice Festival recovering a pattern similar to the emblematic dress of William Travilla.
The Cuban woman, who surprised us a few days ago with an inspiring mid-season look, chose a pleated design by Louis Vuitton with a V-neckline, also tied around the neck and in a Greek style, which emphasized her waist with a ribbon that drops the skirt to ground, in a long tail. Though the actress’s choice was pink and longer than Marilyn’s dress, the similarities between one and the other are evident. Ana de Armas, yes, helped by her stylist Samantha McMillen, once again trusted Louis Vuitton as the leading firm for this 79th edition of the Mostra and added a silver choker-style necklace from the Messika jewelry house.
The house French woman created this custom design for her using a hand pleated satin muslin. In total, 60 meters of fabric were used for its preparation using 350 working hours to achieve the perfect pleating by hand of each of the parts that compose it: the top, the skirt and the belt. A jewel made dress that impressed both for its pronounced V-neckline at the front and for the generous opening at the back.
The actress became one of the absolute protagonists of the last day of the festival since, in addition to wearing an outfit full of meaning, she also posed in front of the cameras with other great masters of interpretation, such as Adrien Brody or Brad Pitt.
At the gates of the premiere of this long-awaited production, which will be released on September 16, the tributes to Monroe only increase the desire to see her on screen. It promises to be one of the premieres that will give the most to talk about.
