The movie of Marvel and Sony, ‘Kraven the Hunter,’ already has a protagonist. Aaron Taylor-Johnson will play the villain in this spin-off from Spider-man, which will be directed by JC Chandor.
According to The Wrap, the studio has signed with the actor to participate in several films of the franchise related to Spider-Man, in which there are also films such as Venom, whose sequel again starring Tom Hardy, will soon see the light, or Morbius with Jared Leto. Kraven the Hunter will feature a script by Marcum and Matt Holloway and Richard Wenk, while Avi Arad Y Matt tolmach will act as producers.
Born into the Russian aristocracy, Sergei Kravinoff is the alter ego of ‘Kraven the Hunter’. The character is obsessed with hunting big game first appeared as a villain in 1964 in volume 15 of The Amazing Spider-Man, created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. As seen in the original comics, Kravinoff began his career using typical hunter tools, but over time he developed a preference for killing large animals with his bare hands.
After meeting a voodoo witch doctor named Calypso, Kravinoff takes a potion of herbs and gains powers such as strength, speed and ultra-developed senses. The potion also lengthened his life, maintaining his health and vitality.
Taylor-Johnson rose to fame as the lead in the Kick-Ass saga. Later he appeared in titles such as Nocturnal Animals or Nowhere Boy. In addition, the actor is part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as he played Pietro Maximoff in the post-credits scene of Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Avengers: Age of Ultron.
‘Kraven the Hunter,’ will hit theaters on January 13, 2023. Meanwhile, fans will be able to see other chapters of Sony’s Marvel universe such as Venom: There Will Be Carnage, which will be released on October 8, 2021; and Morbius, which will arrive on January 28, 2022. Spider-Man: No Way Home, Tom Holland’s third Peter Parker solo film, also jointly produced by Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures, will be released on December 17, 2021.
